Our G and Tea Afternoon Tea at The Great John Street hotel was a delight from start to finish. The overall ambience is just right, it feels special as soon as you walk through the door. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the gin cocktails were delicious and served in glass teapots with fresh flowers and fruit. The savoury food was presented well and portions generous. The sweet selection was absolutely beautiful with a well balanced and interesting selection of flavours. There was four in our party and we all thought it was superb. We were asked on several occasions if we wanted more tea but as we were given such generous servings none of us needed more. This is definitely an experience to repeat!

Great food and attention to detail. Seating very uncomfortable and quite shabby. I wouldn't ne against going again but wouldn't sit in the same area if I can help ot and fir this reason, although the food was great, it woukbt be my first choice of venue for another afternoon tea, sadly

The Afternoon Tea was lovely but there was a serious lack of staff, l had to find a member of staff to refill the teapot and l needed a clean knife but had to search for a member of staff again, and again when we wanted to pay the bill. I don’t expect staff to hover around but it would have been nice to actually have some one come and ask if we needed anything ,

The afternoon tea was lovely. Gorgeous vintage plates and cups to hold the tea, of which there was lots of choices, delicious sandwiches. The scones were served warm (as you would expect!) And the jam and cream plentiful.
Cakes were ok, nothing overly special or stand out.
The surroundings were sumptuous and it did feel really special.
