We had a good time but I think that overall for what we had and the ambience it was very expensive. The sandwich and scones were good but the cakes not so much. We had a better time on a previous visit when we were in a more relaxed room. The chairs and sofa were too deep to sit back on comfortably so we were sat upright to maintain the conversation.

Great John street hotel is very relaxing and comfortable. The music was cool and made a great atmosphere. We had afternoon tea which was really yummy and satisfyingly filling. Both of the waiters made our time special. We felt well looked after by all the staff that spoke to us! Will book again and surely recommend to friends and family.

Lovely food, attentive service, quirky surroundings. The blackberry mousse was the highlight, very light and not too sweet. The scones were perfect, with real clotted cream and jam.

The nicest Afternoon Tea we have had. It was great value for money as it was 2 for £30 for October. Everything was lovely, service exceptional, good selection of sandwiches and cakes, as much tea as you wanted and a bottle of water for the table. We will definitely be coming back.

The hotel and tea room are very well maintained and decorated. Loved the food. Service was excellent save for repeated requests for our reservation details. The servers were kind and attentive without hovering. Tea selection was great. Champagne was smooth.
