Customer service let the whole experience down I'm afraid. The waiters looked uncomfortable, worried and awkward. We had four different people as waiters. The table wasn't laid correctly for afternoon tea. However, the food and tea were lovely. No faults there really.

I recently had afternoon tea at Kai Mayfair with 4 friends after work and highly recommend the experience. While the food itself is delicious, there is also a lovely story to this afternoon tea which I won’t spoil but which made it extra special. We were also there to celebrate the birthdays of 3 members of our group and Kai Mayfair surprised us with 3 birthday desserts with candles to blow out which needless to say was a lovely way to finish our afternoon!!

The Afternoon tea was exelent! Pleasing both to see and taste. A perfect match between savory and sweet things. And no problems that one of us had allergies. I liked everything, but most memorable was the tea cocktails, the bao with crispy duck and the blue and white macaroons. The staff was friendly and the ambience was romantic and cosy.
