Acanteen is always welcoming and the staff are always friendly and ready to make all requests available. Good breakfast pancakes and relaxed atmosphere.
We had a lovely time and we will always go back :-)

A proudly family-run restaurant and bar, Acanteen is a relaxed spot for all-day dining that also hosts regular art and live music events. Ethically produced dishes include great gluten-free and vegan selection, while the in-house bakery juice bar is perfect for grabbing a quick bite to go.
The Acanteen menu starts off with wholesome breakfasts and brunches, ranging from freshly baked pastries, through to meat and veggie variations of full English breakfasts. For lunch there are thick bloomer sandwiches, and generous sharing plates with gourmet treats like Lambton and Jackson smoked salmon. Stone-baked pizzas come with a selection of local and international toppings, while hearty mains include the lentil, mushroom and olive burger, and beer battered haddock and chips.
A selection of handmade cakes and pastries are served for afternoon tea at Acanteen in Chelmsford, along with a range of loose leaf teas. From the bar there are British beers and ales, classic and signature cocktails, as well as colourful raw juices and smoothies.
An inviting restaurant that showcases local art and culture, Acanteen is an 8-minute walk from Chelmsford Rail Station.

I’ve been to Acanteen many times now, the food is excellent, the service is always great and along with the decent selection of craft beers and the cool atmosphere I hope to keep returning.

The staff are always very friendly and relaxed and not rushed, despite it being a very busy place. I love the ambience and the food too and the fact you do not feel rushed and could stay there topping up the coffee for hours! I would make a suggestion though that the menu be changed/updated as it is a bit samey! Also just a note to say that the everytime I have eaten there the wait for the initial drinks (coffees etc) is always too long and sometimes the food arrives before the coffee. But a great place all the same!

Quite nice, live music mediocre, not that much atmosphere for a Friday night, staff lovely and attentive, crab burger very nice

The food is lovely when it actually arrives but it is let down by the service which is awful. We had to wait 40min for our starters and then when the bill came it was wrong. I will not be going here again soon which is a pity as the food is great
