Serving fresh, authentic Italian cuisine since 1978, A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro brings a slice of continental life to Glasgow city centre. Just across from the King’s Theatre, the restaurant is the ideal place for a pre-theatre meal, and hosts live music at the weekend.

On the Ristorante Teatro menu, freshness and Italian authenticity are both treated importantly. Ingredients are locally sourced, with key items imported directly from Italy, giving diners the best of both worlds. From antipasto platters perfect for sharing, there is also a selection of fresh pasta dishes, fresh Scottish beef, and vegetarian options. If there is a desired dish that does not feature on the menu, the chefs will do their best to prepare it. All items on the menu – from bread to desserts – are made freshly in the restaurant each day.

As well as a selection of Italian and international wines, Ristorante Teatro Glasgow also mixes up a range of bold cocktails, and serves beers and fine spirits.

A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro is just 3 minutes’ walk from Charing Cross (Glasgow) Rail Station, and a 7-minute walk from Buchanan Street Station.

Restaurant was very cosy and had a lovely atmosphere from entry. There was plenty of staff on hand to take our coats and show us to our table. The restaurant is quite small and tables are close together, however this didn't impact on our dining experience. The food was delicious - we had the pre theatre pate and ministrone soup to start, arribiata pasta and pollo peppe for main course and 1 of us had the panettone for desert. Staff were attentive but in no rush to move you onto the next course or bill. My only criticism would be the bill came to over £70.00 even though we ordered from the pre theatre menu and had only 1 drink each. The food was nice but for a 2 course pre theatre meal @ £13.95, we were billed an additional £11.90 for the desert which seemed very excessive. Also there is mentin on the menu of a complimentary champagne cocktail if you order dessert - there was no mention or offer of this at the time when ordered or served.

We have dined here before and found the food to be superb. It is our first stop when we visit kings theatre. We noticed on our visit this time it had been redecorated and it looked fresh. We only found that the guy sitting at bottom of stairs playing a guitar was a fire hazard as there is not enough room to get coats and put them on. We had to squeeze in to get coats and then go upstairs to the outside to put on coats. That was the only downside.

Great atmosphere and staff very friendly. We visit once a year and are never disappointed. The food is excellent. Ideal location for theatre.

Food was excellent & service first class. Staff extremely friendly & helpful.
Decor was very nice, although some of the seating required replacing. This is not a problem since staff informed us that seating is being replaced in November. Prices very reasonable. Lasagne was excellent as were other dishes on menu.

Service and food was excellent great value on pre theatre. Don’t let the road works outside put you off.

My sister and I have a lovely pre theatre meal here prior to going to a show. Food was excellent as ever, I have dined here several times. This is a small intimate restaurant with plenty atmosphere. Staff were excellent and knowledgeable about the menu.

Good foo, served hot, service quick. Only downside was tables very cramped. Difficult to get out and in. Same with stairs down to restaurant. If a few metres wider, night would have been perfect. That is why rated ambience 3.
