Serving fresh, authentic Italian cuisine since 1978, A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro brings a slice of continental life to Glasgow city centre. Just across from the King’s Theatre, the restaurant is the ideal place for a pre-theatre meal, and hosts live music at the weekend.

On the Ristorante Teatro menu, freshness and Italian authenticity are both treated importantly. Ingredients are locally sourced, with key items imported directly from Italy, giving diners the best of both worlds. From antipasto platters perfect for sharing, there is also a selection of fresh pasta dishes, fresh Scottish beef, and vegetarian options. If there is a desired dish that does not feature on the menu, the chefs will do their best to prepare it. All items on the menu – from bread to desserts – are made freshly in the restaurant each day.

As well as a selection of Italian and international wines, Ristorante Teatro Glasgow also mixes up a range of bold cocktails, and serves beers and fine spirits.

A Little Taste of Italy Ristorante Teatro is just 3 minutes’ walk from Charing Cross (Glasgow) Rail Station, and a 7-minute walk from Buchanan Street Station.

Food nice, service good but way too small for me. Up close and personal with strangers is not for me.
Toilets need some care and attention too.

A pre-theatre to start the evening. Family all able to find something they liked on the menu, including gluten-free, and enjoy the food. Lovely lasagne, perfect penne! However our drawback was the stairs! Despite saying on the booking that one of our party had mobility issues, this information was not picked up on. The photos of the entrance did not indicate the fact the restaurant (with a different name) was in the basement. We shouldn't have to rely on reviews to explain this!

We booked this restaurant for pre-theatre before going to a show. Service was very good even though there was only one waitress serving at the time we visited (5.30 pm). Food was excellent and well presented. You should note that the restaurant has now changed hands and is now named Sannino.

Lovely little restaurant. Pre theatre meal was delicious! Staff were friendly & attentive. Bit small but the rest of the experience shone through. I'll be back. Excellent for handyness to nearby vvenues too.

Layout of tables are not good. Far far too close together. Our table in the corner resulted in our plates coming stretched over other guests heads, as no room for waiter. Pepper mill and parmigiano were stretched over to do ourselves......?!
Food was tasty, but the lack of service caused by the layout let our visit down. And I question the hygiene issue of customers touching the cheese.

It was a little slow to take the initial order and our order needed to get rechecked, but staff were apologetic. when food came it was delicious and was very generous portions. We were going for a pre-theatre meal before going to the Kings Theatre. Would definitely recommend, and suggest booking as it’s small.
