A Cena has been serving authentic Italian food on the banks of the River Thames since 2001. Set in a warm, friendly, elegant and relaxed atmosphere, the menu changes regularly to adapt to the seasons and ensure only the freshest ingredients go into the dishes.

Begin with the likes of smoky aubergine and potato croquettes with Parmesan and aioli, fried tiger prawns and chili mayonnaise, or one of many tempting fish, meat and vegetable antipasti. Sample main dishes on the A Cena menu include grilled Scottish ribeye steak with rocket, lemon and patatine fritte, or pan-fried marinated hake fillet with capers, white wine, butter, lemon and green beans.

The dessert menu at A Cena restaurant features Florentine donuts with strawberry sauce, salted caramel ripple ice cream, and hazelnut praline with chocolate ice cream. The wine list offers a lengthy selection of Italian bottles, whilst the cocktail menu is equally expansive, and includes the signature A Cena cocktail: vodka, triple sec, orange juice, cranberry juice and fresh lime.

Next to Richmond Bridge, A Cena Richmond is a 10-minute walk from St Margarets Train Station.

Really enjoyed ourselves. We were welcomed and looked after.

Lovely food and service. A great find. As it was appalling weather that evening, my only criticism was there was no heat in the building. Otherwise we loved it.

Exceptional prawns to start, and the new duck main was delightful. Be careful with the red wine choices and a lovely meal is always had for the Sunday set menu

Lovely food, really tasty and they did really simple sounding dishes really well. Great service, they let us have a very chilled evening without any pressure to 'order faster' or more dishes. Prices were slightly above what I'd normally pay but it's Richmond...

Great food and atmosphere as usual.

The location & exterior was a bit surprising to me & off putting for guests.
The interior was very basic as the guest remarked it looked like Church pews.
The service was quick & friendly. The dimly lit interior is good for a romantic date but the chairs were uncomfortable.
The starters of prawns were perfectly cooked. Not overcooked & limp.
Immediately it became clear that the food would be exceptional.
The main courses of beef fish & chicken were all perfectly cooked & different.
Melt in the mouth beef. Crispy chicken & sauces to complement.
We didn't order any alcoholic drinks & with one starter for four mains it cost just under a £100.

Imaginative food- I could have eaten all the first courses! Companions all happy with their choices. Enjoyed a dessert cocktail too. Acoustics a bit tricky early on if you are hard of hearing but this improved as the evening wore on and a table cleared.

A Cena - ambience/food/wine/service as excellent as always. Remains one of favourite restaurants

The food was incredible, every single dish. We had the green olive and portobello salad, chilli tiger prawns and crunchy cauliflower to start. The fusilli was delish. Definitely worth the title best Italian in London. The only thing I would say is the service could be a bit more friendly from the male service working there. They came across a bit frosty.
