A Cena has been serving authentic Italian food on the banks of the River Thames since 2001. Set in a warm, friendly, elegant and relaxed atmosphere, the menu changes regularly to adapt to the seasons and ensure only the freshest ingredients go into the dishes.

Begin with the likes of smoky aubergine and potato croquettes with Parmesan and aioli, fried tiger prawns and chili mayonnaise, or one of many tempting fish, meat and vegetable antipasti. Sample main dishes on the A Cena menu include grilled Scottish ribeye steak with rocket, lemon and patatine fritte, or pan-fried marinated hake fillet with capers, white wine, butter, lemon and green beans.

The dessert menu at A Cena restaurant features Florentine donuts with strawberry sauce, salted caramel ripple ice cream, and hazelnut praline with chocolate ice cream. The wine list offers a lengthy selection of Italian bottles, whilst the cocktail menu is equally expansive, and includes the signature A Cena cocktail: vodka, triple sec, orange juice, cranberry juice and fresh lime.

Next to Richmond Bridge, A Cena Richmond is a 10-minute walk from St Margarets Train Station.

I chose the Duck and Cauliflower entree. I enjoyed these very much.

Great service. Lovely staff, wonderful food and a good wine list. Not overpriced. What’s not to like. Many thanks for a memorable evening.

Very enjoyable experience at A Cena. Very good service and excellent food. My husband had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection.

A Cena has been one of our favourite restaurants for many years and this visit was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both had the mozzarella starter followed by lamb, accompanied by glasses of the excellent primitivo.

Service was excellent and they gave us a lovely table in the window. Authentic Italian dishes accompanied by an interesting, and very Italian, wine list. Strongly recommend.

    Excellent evening

A Cena is a small local restaurant. free of many of the elements that overwhelm other 'flashier' eating places. If there was any music playing it was understated and conversation was easy. The service was discreet and had the ability to appear only when needed. The food was good too!

A VERY WARM WELCOME FROM THE STAFF. Used Richmond Card to get a reduction on the food bill. Excellent food: most of all the Cauliflower starter . Thought wine was expensive, not even a house white under £20. They do an Express lunch of a salad, a pasta and coffee for £10 which sounds like it would be a bargain.
We sat in a banquette style table at the front, which was very nice; but it looked quite gloomy at the back where most of the tables are. Seemed to be a lot of regulars there which is an excellent recommendation. Will definitely go again.

Fabulous meal. A new chef and enthusiasm and commitment shines through. The food was really very good. Great wine list too.

We arrived 10 mins for our booking and were escorted to the bar for cocktails shortly after arrival the waiter advised that the table was ready.
Food was excellent and it was particularly nice to see an Italian menu that wasn't full of pizza and pasta.
Our only comment would be that the restaurant seemed excessively noisy however the staff were prompt ,efficient and friendly.
