Restaurant description

At the top of the No.1 Spinningfields building in Manchester, 20 Stories is a stunning rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace offering unparalleled city views. Filled with striking contemporary design that includes a tranquil garden, this is an essential choice for diners looking for an elegant spot to indulge and socialise.

The 20 Stories menus celebrate seasonal British flavours, with an eclectic line-up of signature dishes. Bold starters include roasted pigeon with cherries and violet mustard, and roasted scallop with pearl barley and Rioja distillation, moving on to hearty mains like rack of pork with salt-baked pineapple, and the vegetarian butter-poached salsify with burnt leeks and parsnip purée.

Desserts at 20 Stories in Manchester City Centre continue the British theme, with signature Manchester tarts on offer, as well as other treats like yoghurt parfait with rhubarb, rose and lemon. The elegant bar area is a chic setting to enjoy creative cocktails, fine wines and premium spirits, or take them to the terrace to take in the 360-degree city views.

A glamorous rooftop destination in Manchester, 20 Stories is an 8-minute walk from Salford Central Rail Station.

Hello we were unfortunately quite disappointed with our first visit to your restaurant. One of our friends meal had to be returned back as it was severely under cooked. & the presentation of all the food was not very professionally serviced. Overall we feel that we will not be visiting again as you know the choice of restaurants in manchester is amazing so we will be trying another restaurant. But thank you .. Keith wolden

Had a great night at 20 Stories from the cocktails to start to a beautifully cooked steak. Staff were excellent, fabulous views of the city.

Preset menu had enough variety and options. Presentation and service was superb. There was one rather loud member of a party having drinks at the bar, a diner from an adjoining table went over to ask him to be quiet. this could and should have been dealt with by members of staff. it didn't really sp[oil the ambience but could have if not dealt with effectively.

Both our welcome and the service throughout was faultless. The food was lovely and clearly showed attention to detail. Overall a nice way to toast my wife’s 50th Birthday.

Excellent venue and meal. The 4 course plus glass of wine for just £32.50 offered superb value for money. The amuse bouche was potato mousse - soft and garlicky - a winner with us all. Then the starter was goats curd and beetroots with orange - gorgeous combination. We then had salmon cooked in olive oil with Jerusalem artichokes and shallots - a brilliant piece of cooking and my favourite course. It was difficult to choose a dessert but plumped for lemon cheesecake - a feast for the eye as well as being light and delicious. The wine was lovely. The whole experience was enhanced by a window side table with gobsmacking views across the east of Manchester and beyond to the hills. Attentive staff were helpful and informative. Altogether a magic way to spend a Friday lunchtime with special friends. Can’t wait to come back.

The views over Manchester were amazing, the food was good but the bar prices were expensive and I object to a service charge being added to the bar bill.
