At the top of the No.1 Spinningfields building in Manchester, 20 Stories is a stunning rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace offering unparalleled city views. Filled with striking contemporary design that includes a tranquil garden, this is an essential choice for diners looking for an elegant spot to indulge and socialise.

The 20 Stories menus celebrate seasonal British flavours, with an eclectic line-up of signature dishes. Had a great night at 20 Stories from the cocktails to start to a beautifully cooked steak. Staff were excellent, fabulous views of the city.

Preset menu had enough variety and options. Presentation and service was superb. There was one rather loud member of a party having drinks at the bar, a diner from an adjoining table went over to ask him to be quiet. this could and should have been dealt with by members of staff. it didn't really sp[oil the ambience but could have if not dealt with effectively.

Both our welcome and the service throughout was faultless. The food was lovely and clearly showed attention to detail. Overall a nice way to toast my wife’s 50th Birthday.

Excellent venue and meal. The 4 course plus glass of wine for just £32.50 offered superb value for money. The amuse bouche was potato mousse - soft and garlicky - a winner with us all. Then the starter was goats curd and beetroots with orange - gorgeous combination. We then had salmon cooked in olive oil with Jerusalem artichokes and shallots - a brilliant piece of cooking and my favourite course. It was difficult to choose a dessert but plumped for lemon cheesecake - a feast for the eye as well as being light and delicious. The wine was lovely. The whole experience was enhanced by a window side table with gobsmacking views across the east of Manchester and beyond to the hills. Attentive staff were helpful and informative. Altogether a magic way to spend a Friday lunchtime with special friends. Can’t wait to come back.

The views over Manchester were amazing, the food was good but the bar prices were expensive and I object to a service charge being added to the bar bill.

The ambience was excellent and the view is amazing but ashamed of the food, I had veal for my main but it was very tough. I brought to the attention to the waiter and he seems doesn’t want to know, no apologies. I did mentioned to a duty manager and when we paid the bill they did removed the service charge. But two of us was feeling hungry as we couldn’t hardly eat our veal. The place is just nice if your only going for drinks and not for a meal.
