Very very disappointing. Half the dishes literally tasted of nothing although they looked good. But worst of all, my medium rare steak arrived cold. I asked for it to be replaced, but they just brought it back heated up!!! They covered the bit I’d tested with garnish! Staff helpful but no management were present to assist. Reception staff at the hotel did apologise and offered compensation. Shame as it’s a nice looking restaurant. Breakfast was the same, looked good but didn’t taste good.

The afternoon tea food selection was very good, nicely presented. We were not impressed with service. We arrived punctually, and even before we managed to sit down a waiter insisted that we place our orders "because the chef is ready and waiting". At that stage we did not have chance to look at the menus. He came a minute later and asked again, and since we were not ready we asked him to give us five or so minutes. He then disappeared. After about 15 minutes one of the party went to the bar to ask for somebody to take our orders. This happened reasonably promptly, and everything was fine after that.

We booked the graduation afternoon tea for 6 people, including one vegan and 3 vegetarians. Despite the afternoon tea menu offering very limited vegetarian options on the savoury items, the restaurant were able to give us one of the best vegan and vegetarian teas we have had. Maybe they should publicise this rather then leaving it to be discovered

Friendly service. Good choice of wine, tasty well presented food. Although there are choices for non meat eaters it would be nice if the menu varied more. After 3 recent visits we’ve now tried everything we would eat.

Service and quality of the steaks is great. Nice atmosphere, great selection of wines. One of the best steak houses. I will be back.
