I had booked a 2 night break which included a two course meal. Once in the restaurant I asked the waitress if all the menu was included in the offer as there had been no indication of how much each person was allowed . She checked with her manager, the offer was £20 per person. Considering most of the mains on the menu were £14 upwards, you would have had to pay extra if you wanted a starter or pudding. That’s fine but the offer is very misleading as you are lead to think that this is a 2 course deal so you should make this clearer when booking. The food itself was ok but nothing special, I had the Pappardelle pasta dish which was very salty, my Mum had the chicken burger which she enjoyed.

We visited the 1705 restaurant at the De Vere Beaumont Estate, Windsor on 20 September 2019 as part of an offer. On arrival we were shown to our table very quickly and the staff were attentive taking our order. Our starter arrived very quickly but we then waited nearly 1 hour for our main course. Not acceptable! My husband chose the beef for his main course which looked good and he thoroughly enjoyed. I chose the chicken which also looked good but unfortunately taste was lacking. Disappointed and did not use the restaurant for dinner on our second night at the hotel.

The food was of a good standard, the staff were pleasant, but it took over 2.5 hours from ordering our starter and drinks to getting our coffee at the end. The wait in between courses was totally unacceptable. It spoiled the experience.

We ate from the 2 course menu that was included as part of the 2 night offer. When we were presented with the menu it came with a very limited wine choice which was printed at the top of the set menu. As wine was at our expense we found this strange so we asked for the full wine menu which we were then presented with. My partner ordered bread with flavoured butters to start; the bread was excellent but the butter appeared to have just been taken out of the freezer, it was very difficult to spread and the flavour was impaired as a result of the freezing. I ordered the arancini balls which tasted okay but were very heavy and came with a very dense cold sauce. A lighter warm sauce would have been a better option. My partner had a chicken main course which he said was excellent. I had spaghetti in a tomato sauce with veg balls. The spaghetti was very soft and clearly overcooked. The veg balls had the consistency of mush and the tomato sauce was flavourless. The restaurant was lively and the staff were very attentive, professional and friendly. The following night we decided to eat at the bar. My partner had a beef burger which he said was very nice. I had a beetroot burger which was so overcooked that I couldn't get a knife through parts of it. I ordered tzatziki to go with my burger which was probably the worst I've ever tasted. The bar area was lovely, very tastefully decorated and a pleasant place to eat/drink. Very disappointed overall with the veggie meals that I had.

Booked a table for 6pm for husband's birthday. When we arrived we were told the restaurant was not available until 7pm as we had children with us (makes no sense right?) Ended up eating a bar meal with hardly any children's options that the chef had agreed to, like he was doing us a favour. Took over an hour from being seated to get main courses which took us past 7pm. Had we known the wait would be so long we could have waited for the restaurant
