Went there on a Friday evening, the place can do about 20 covers max I think, but the tables are not squeezed which is nice, you have your own privacy.
Menu was quite stunning, about 6 starters choices, from seasonal asparagus to goats cheese on butternut squashed, scallops etc... difficult to choose. then 3 fish courses and 3 meat course + 1 vg.
We had the dover sole (very nice) and the duck (a little on the sweet side for my wife).
Drinks: quite a few alcohols for aperitif and end of meal. I followed the recommendation for the gin and was not disappointed, exactly what I asked for.
Wine during the meal was equally good; we had wine by the glass and there are enough choices (i.e. 3/4 whites and 3/4 reds), the wine list (bottle) seems quite large.
Service was good, not rushed but equally not waiting for our food.
We had a very pleasant evening and will go back.

As always warm, welcome from Angela. Perfectly presented table in intimate but uncrowded restaurant. Excellent, unhurried service, giving time as needed to make choices from the menu. Beautifully cooked and presented food. Reasonably priced good variety of wines. The place to go for a celebratory meal in quiet surroundings.

Welcoming fine dining in a quietly friendly restaurant. Very knowledgeable front of house helped confirm the most suitable wine and offered a cheaper option. The food was really good worthy of Mitchelin praise with a local focus. A very good wine cellar and pricing. We’d travelled 200 miles and would certainly come again

Welcome - warm and personal, still efficient. Service - relaxed but very professional. Food - excellent and very well-presented. Only regret - lamb was not available; but this provides a good excuse for returning, which I would very happily do. Background music - quiet but very well-chosen, not at all 'muzak'.

    Excellent as usual.

All of the dishes we ordered were excellent, even the mushroom strudel which was ordered as much out of interest as desire. Our 17 year old son was very impressed which is quite a rare feat of achievement. Lovely welcome despite us being late and great relaxed atmosphere. Hopefully it will not be so long till we visit again.

Great welcome. Everything about it was classy. Good wine list, good drinks list, no pressure at all. Their booking policy staggers arrivals, so there we were never hurried. And with my 80-year old Mum that was a great bonus

There's a family link with Brixham, so I went for two fish dishes, both freshly sourced from Brixham. My squid starter was delicious. Simple, but it was done perfectly. For my main course I chose the monk fish. I think this was the most delicious monkfish I've ever tasted. The consistency was just perfect, and with a generous portion. It really was exceptional.

I liked the booking service. I booked online, had to make an amendment by email, and received confirmation on both counts by email. Very smooth, and nicely personal.

Excellent as always. The duck was beautifully cooked and tasty as was the John Dory and scallops, accompanying vegetables were fresh and cooked exactly right. The sticky toffee pudding and cheescake were also great. Quantities of food were about right, we managed three courses comfortably without feeling absolutely stuffed. Angela is always so warm and welcoming and seems to remember everyone! I enjoy sitting near the kitchen where you can peak through and see the chef(s) in action. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for, first class food.

This restaurant reliably provides an exceptional experience. My three vegan courses were all delicious. I was impressed how many lovely fruits and vegetables the chef managed to incorporate into them. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his meal.
