In one of the city’s oldest buildings, Zizzi Canterbury combines tradition with innovation. Its Tudor walls house a menu of rustic Italian dishes served in a restaurant boasting contemporary décor, stretching over 2 floors.

The Zizzi menu offers a reinvention of traditional Italian cuisine, as well as a range of trusty classic dishes. Enjoy thin and crispy rustica pizzas loaded with fresh toppings, a skinny pizza range with all offerings under 550 calories, and sumptuous cichetti tasting plates. Complementing the rich natural flavours, the Zizzi wine list is compiled by Italian wine expert, Guillaume Aubert.

Specially designed for younger diners, a bambini menu at Zizzi restaurant in Canterbury is filled with tempting yet nutritious Italian dishes. For dessert, organic gelato comes courtesy of renowned ice cream maker, Kitty Travers.

Friendly greeting and great ambience, we chose a cosy area to eat as it was cold and miserable outside. The staff were happy for us to take our time before ordering so we ordered our drinks first. I chose the duck dish, which was delicious and quite adventurous for me, I would highly recommend. My wife and son ordered pizzas and were also delighted with their choice. We had tickets for the Marlowe Theatre, which is a stones throw away from the restaurant so this turned out to be the perfect eatery.

Our waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant but we waited a long time between seating and ordering, Then finishing and getting the bill and then paying the bill. I am not sure why that was as there were not a huge number of covers in that evening.

Left waiting a long time for a table by the door despite the fact that we'd 'booked.' Had to ask for a jug of water, as is so common in restaurants these days, at least twice. Some enjoyed their pizzas & they looked good, others found them a bit bland, service was so slow that one friend had to leave half their main course to get to work on time. Definitely got ignored once when tried to call a waiter over.
