The booking service was good, we got in and they took our name and sat us down. The layout at the front by the entrance was a little off. There was no room to wait to be seen and seated but overall was very good a really nice atmosphere.

In the historic twisting Lanes of the area, Zizzi Brighton follows a theme of diversity, ranging from its rustic yet innovative Italian menu, to its eclectic combination of décors, which include numerous beach details.

The Zizzi menu offers a reinvention of traditional Italian cuisine, as well as a range of trusty classic dishes. Enjoy thin and crispy rustica pizzas loaded with fresh toppings, a skinny pizza range with all offerings under 550 calories, and sumptuous cichetti tasting plates. Complementing the rich natural flavours, the Zizzi wine list is compiled by Italian wine expert, Guillaume Aubert.

Specially designed for younger diners, a bambini menu at Zizzi restaurant in Brighton is filled with tempting yet nutritious Italian dishes. For dessert, organic gelato comes courtesy of renowned ice cream maker, Kitty Travers

Zizzi Brighton features everything from black and red mirror ball pendants to pebble decorations, which complement its equally large range of colourful dishes. Private dining is available, and there is an al fresco option which allows diners to enjoy the sea air.

Food was great & service quick on a very busy Saturday lunchtime. King prawn linguine was delicious .. if not a little fiery! Only slight negative was lack of offer of Parmesan, refill of drinks!
The kitchen is in A very awkward position & really hard to manoeuvre getting out as well as going to the toilet (which really didn't smell great) when a queue was waiting to get in! Not sure how you get round poor design apart from cranking less tables in I guess!

The food was bland, and there was almost no meat in either the 'Pulled beef arancini' (starter) or the 'Pulled beef and venison strozzapreti' (main) - literally a couple of fingernail-sized pieces of stringy, fatty meat in the strozzapreti, and all the food was just generally tasteless (my partner had the 'Lamb meatballs al forno', and the meatballs were grey and mushy). Just awful - and a shame, because we remember several excellent meals there a few years ago. We complained, and the manager kindly took all the food (half of which we had left uneaten) off the bill. Not his fault, and he reacted to the situation professionally - but standards at Zizzi (mainly the quality and quantity of ingredients) seem to have dropped precipitously in the last few years as far as we can see. Service was fine, but the food was inexcusably bad. Not recommended.
