A safari-style eatery, Zafari Bar and Grill sits within the Chessington Safari Hotel in Chessington's World of Adventures Resort. Zafari serves African cuisine from the lively open kitchen.

A diverse selection from the Zafari menu foregrounds a host of international flavours. African influences include a classic Cape burger, or aromatically-spiced freshwater tilapia. For a flash of excitement, diners can choose a tasty skewer from the fire, or the Wanyama banquet is loaded with tasty meats and falafel. Tantalisingly tropical flavours feature for dessert, as well as rich, chocolate-filled options.

Littered with plush, animal-print upholstery and exotic plants, Zafari Chessington is a colourful retreat. Family-friendly Zafari offers a fun ambience, with a life-size giraffe grazing nearby, and jazzy animal murals. The ‘little Africa’ menu offers a fun selection just for kids.

    Not bad - a few tweaks could make it great! To start with the good, there are some amazing views for a limited number of the window tables (we have never managed to secure one of these!) and the quality of the good is far better than the temple restaurant with plenty of non-fried options for kids. The bad, the prices are very high (but expected I suppose in a theme park restaurant) and the service is a bit haphazard with inexperienced staff.

    Had a lovely meal after a day in the theme park. Turned out we all (3)chose burgers all be it different ones but they were delicious. Using our Merlin Annual Pass gave us a good discount too. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and it was our daughter's birthday so she kindly put the sparklers I had bought into the dessert my daughter chose and came singing to the table with 2 other members of staff. A lovely touch. Thank you. Also a great view of the Wanyama resort

    We are big fans of this restaurant! The steak and vegetable and halloumi skewers are to die for!

    Great family restaurant couldn't fault it at all, the food was brilliant and the staff were so helpful. Would booked again and recommend it to my friends and family.

    Service was very slow had to to find someone who was not chatting with other staff members to take our order as we had been seated 30 minutes,after another 25 minutes our drinks finally arrived followed by our food which was ok. Our whole party is veggie and not a lot of choice on menu,and as we stay in hotel quiet regularly it would be nice to see the menu changed at least once a year.
    If we were not staying in the hotel we would not use restaurant as it seems very over priced with little choice.

    If you like spicy food, then this is the place for you! However, trying to get them to understand i can't handle spices or salt for medical reasons was a nightmare at first but then once we had placed my order, the waiter returned a short time later to say the starter would not be suitable for me, so i cancelled my starter, then suddenly my main meal appeared (yes just mine) when my partner had not even had his starter, so i refused to take the main meal for obvious reasons, then i was seen to be the back guy as the chef and 3 of the staff stood pointing at me and all getting really angry, which made me uncomfortable so finally my partner's starter turned up and the chef stormed out and left for the night, so the rest of staff were giving me daggers all night, so we had our main meals and still not suitable for me, so i didn't eat it, i gave up, i find it surprising that a massive company like this cannot assist customers with certain requests, its not difficult or even allow their staff to treat their customers so badly with all the pointing at me and dirty looks i got. Wont be eating there again, i'm affraid!
