Believed to be the second oldest pub in the country, Ye Olde Six Bells dates all the way back to the 9th century and offers quality British cuisine from an extensive menu. The charming, shingle-roof country inn has been sympathetically restored, with some of its original features still intact, while the conservatory dining room offers stunning views of the Surrey countryside.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Ye Olde Six Bells menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Neighbouring the grassy banks of the winding River Mole, Ye Olde Six Bells in Horley is just a 4-minute drive to Gatwick Airport.

We were very pleased with our dining experience as before, except the whisky glaze seemed to be missing from the ham hock & carrots! Just an observation.....

The food was very nice, unfortunately when the bill came 20% vat had been added, we thought there was no vat on food!!!
If we wanted to give a 20% tip we would, but that is not the norm.

We've visited your inn on two previous occasions and both times enjoyed a lovely meal in a wonderful atmosphere of olde worlde charm and outstanding service. On this occasion however the experience was not up to the same standard....I shall explain. Knowing that we would be flying out of Gatwick on 23rd March we booked a table at your inn for the evening of 22nd. After many hours of travelling we arrived at the YOSB to be informed in a sheepish manner that 'oh I'm sorry but following complaints about the agricultural smell outside we moved another couple to your table, the only one we now have available is theirs which is in the side room' Perhaps not word for word but essentially, following complaints we've given your table away (which had been booked for weeks) and if you want to eat with us you'll have to sit at the table where it smells...and did it smell!!! Once again, we enjoyed a very nice meal and great service but ultimately we feel we were badly treated in that to placate another couple our table was readily reallocated without a thought for our own feelings. I cannot blame you for the smell which was a situation truly out of your control but what I am upset about was that our table was given away so readily and we were obliged to put up with the situation or leave. Being tired and left with no other choice we had to accept the offer but quite frankly I believe we had to accept a 'put up or shut up' situation which having booked in good time was not acceptable. Overall we were not impressed!

Nice setting, at the back of the alcove, and we were not kept waiting for more than a couple of minutes. The food was nice, but I felt could have been hotter. Both courses, main and desert, gave the impression of having been rushed in preparation as they were warm, and not piping hot as they should have been. If the kitchen cannot cope with the pace, then either employ more, or better qualified, staff or reduce the number of tables. Serving lukewarm food is unacceptable.

It was excellent. Twice now, I have had the Hunters Chicken, and it is much better than other establishment's interpretation of the same dish. My partner had the vegetarian roast, and said it was nice. We will go again soon. The only criticism is the rather cramped interior. It's possible to hear all the conversations other tables, and this place is very popular!

    Great experience. Good food.
Little disappointed that there was no wifi. The had an Orange open wifi but this did not work for people that had non British mobile phone numbers.
