Wild Garlic have earned themselves 2 AA Rosettes and a place in the Michelin Guide with their blend of fresh local ingredients, and exciting fusions of British and European flavours. Chic furnishings and garlic pattern wallpaper lend the restaurant a unique and intimate feel.
Chef Matthew Beardshall worked with Gordon Ramsay and Marcus Wareing before opening The Wild Garlic: a modern, stylish restaurant with a wholesome, locally sourced menu. The Wild Garlic Nailsworth tasting menu is a journey through exciting flavours, featuring chicken and ginger broth, confit sea trout with piccalilli and bourbon blackberry and apple.
For a lighter bite, guests can also feast on the tapas menu, a selection of small meat, fish, cheese and salad dishes. All of the food can be washed down with something from the extensive wine and cocktail list.
Wild Garlic is in the pretty town of Nailsworth, a 10-minute drive from Stroud Train Station and town centre.

Excellent food, well prepared and presented. Comprehensive menu, with many choices for every course. Good wine list with many reasonably priced bottles. Went for Sunday lunch March 2017. Three course meal for two with a bottle of wine cost £100. Nice room in centre of town, so views not up to much. Modern furniture.

The decor was conducive to a good experience: unfussy and subtle with stripped floors, natural colours and shaker style, lovely.
Service could have been a bit brisker but was very thorough, orders taken professionally and items substituted without issue.
Portions were small but side dishes a reasonable helping.
Beautifully presented and mouth watering flavours. Extremely enjoyable experience.

Lovely restaurant with a clean and modern interior. Went for a business lunch and will definitely come back for a meal with friends. Good value locally sourced/made produce and lost of different things to try. As a vegetarian there were a couple of good choices, though in my opinion mushroom risotto should be really not still be the main vegetarian meal on a menu these days.

Wild Garlic isn't what it used to be years ago when I first discovered it. The food is always very good quality but not as unique and imaginative as it used to be....but I'm guessing one needs to go to the new restaurant for that (Wilder). Still, it was a pleasant lunch. Waiter ill advised my guest what her starter would be which led to it needing to go back to the kitchen. Apart from a small apology the matter was otherwise brushed under the carpet; despite the subsequent wait.

Lovely evening, attentive and friendly staff. Good surroundings and decor.
Food was excellent, my Bass so so tasty. We really liked the menu choices - different from the norm.
So thank you.

Lovely place, intimate setting, friendly staff and the food was first class but the menu was limited. Over all though, a very positive dining experience.

We were really impressed with the food and the presentation of the restaurant. There is no doubt that the food is excellent. I was disappointed with the limited options for our meal, although I understand that this was because there was a 'taster menu' on that evening too. As a vegetarian, I only had one option for each the starter and main course and found them both to be very cheesy. The deserts were very good but again I would not ordinarily have chosen either of the options available as they were both very rich and extremely sweet (apart from of course, cheese again!) Since we paid £35 each for our meals, it was a shame that I could not have chosen something else that I would have preferred.
I would probably go again but only when the normal menu is available.
