With a classic British interior and a modern international menu, White Hart Barnes is a Young’s pub and restaurant overlooking the Thames. Comforting, seasonal produce is elevated to a refined, contemporary level and sharply presented alongside award-winning ales and classy world wines.

Seasonal temptations on the White Hart menu range from delicately balanced smoked egg French toast, with wild mushrooms and duck hearts, to a sumptuous rump of lamb and spiced breast with peas, roasted salsify and grilled lettuce. A fragrant star anise and lavender brulée is served with crunchy honeycomb, while drinks include celebrated Young’s ales and sophisticated French and New World wines.

The White Hart pub and restaurant in London is split over 2 levels. With river-facing windows and a striking open kitchen, the 1st-floor Terrace Kitchen enjoys an easy-dining ambience and sits above the spacious ground floor Canon Bar, which features a quirky and eclectic interior with a central island bar.

White Hart Barnes is a 4-minute walk from Barnes Bridge Station, and boasts an impressive heritage spanning back to the Tudor era.

This is the second time we have eaten at the White Hart on a Sunday and both times have been absolutely perfect.
The dining space is really warm and welcoming with a great relaxed decor. But the best part is the food. Most specifically the roast beef. We have never eaten meat quite as tender and melt in your mouth as this. The desserts also didn't disappoint.
All with service with a smile.
    Favourite Sunday roast location!

We enjoyed most of the food very much. The rump beef was a bit over-cooked, but stiil pretty good. We would have preferred one large joint rather than two small ones. The second joint was inferior to the first. (It would have been good to be able to specify whether, rare, medium, or well-done)
Service was slow. We got so fed up waiting for dessert that we tried to cancel it so we could pay and leave.

However, on the whole we enjoyed the meal and will come back for more.

This restaurant is a hidden peaceful gem above a lively and very nice pub. The food is delicious and very fresh, the steaks the best I've ever had, the service very friendly and down-to-earth, the views are stunning, the décor is inspired - casual and elegant at the same time - in particular the lighting. I return here over and over again and am never disappointed.

The Terrace restaurant has nice decor, overlooking the Thames from an elevated point, light with large windows. Sunday menu is very meat focussed but suited us that day. Good quality and tasty.
However disappointing Eton Mess - insufficient fruit.
Insufficient waiting staff - only 2, difficult to catch their attention. A big party had booked, so manager should have planned ahead.

All three of us thought the quality of food and presentation was very good. Excellent starters were the quail with truffle sauce and the smoked salmon. The sea bass with mussels and chorizo broth was excellent. The pork was above average but the root vegetables were cooked perfectly. Nice selection of puddings with the coffee and chocolate mousse getting our top vote.
