With floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on its idyllic riverside setting at Teddington Lock, The Wharf Teddington is a sleek, tranquil setting for modern British dishes, afternoon tea, or cocktails and live jazz.

A whole manner of British recipes feature on The Wharf Teddington menu, such as pot roast shank of lamb with savoy cabbage and root mash, London Pride battered cod and chips, as well as an enticing grill selection of premium steaks. There are Sunday roasts served, and the riverside setting makes this a popular spot for afternoon tea, with a range of homemade cakes on offer.

Desserts at The Wharf London are filled with classic flavours, including bitter chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream, and apple and apricot crumble. The Wharf Teddington bar has a dramatic split level ceiling, and serves up cocktails, an extensive wine list, and even hosts live jazz evenings.

One of the best riverside dining destinations in London, The Wharf Teddington is a 13-minute walk from Teddington Rail Station.

Our second visit. Very busy (and hence rather noisy) but the staff all worked very hard. All were polite and friendly. Food was very tasty. Asked for a table with minimum steps and this was provided.

Excellent food, ambience, service. River menu with just three choices is excellent value for money. Wine a bit pricey.

Normally (and I have been coming to the Wharf for 7 years) the food is faultless. And my standards are very high. The service is always perfectly pitched and very polite. We had a table for 7 for a family reunion. Unfortunately the food was really not great - I had roast beef- dry, over cooked obv since lunch, asked for more gravy, pointless asking how you want the beef cooked if it's all completely overdone anyway- 2 of us requested medium rare. Vegetables were nothing special or even well presented. Frankly this is where The Wharf normally excels- but instead good had been pretty much thrown on the plate.
Fish pie was ordered by another 2 was ok but looked very much like it had been sitting in their dishes for a while - a bit too "here's one I prepared earlier" and was too cheesy in the mash.
A weird point is that the menu offered to us for dinner at 7pm was entitled "Brunch" menu.
Choices were limited and the usual array that we were looking forward to- such as fillet steak etc weren't listed. Probably a good thing as I wouldn't have wanted the kitchen to mutilate that option. Dessert also very poorly presented chocolate brownie was v pale and a bit unattractive. Bread and butter pudding, which I had been looking forward to, was obviously a bit congealed and greasy and reheated.
Overall the definite feeling was that the chef had not been in the building for 24 hrs and if he had he probably shouldn't have been. Previously the cooking has been exemplary. This was so disappointing and on evening that was important and I did not feel I should have to get into a discussion with the staff about it in front of my guests. Unfortunately it does not make me want to return, and, like I say. This had been s favourite and so reliable and if such a high standard for so long. What went wrong?
