Very enjoyable meal and good value for money. I liked choice of background music but felt it was a bit too loud. I am moving to this area and will definitely go back.

With parts of the building dating back as far as 1350, Wealdon Hall is a family-friendly pub with character in abundance. Offsetting a trio of crackling fireplaces indoors is a spectacular beer garden, with space to seat 200 people.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Wealdon Hall menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at the Wealdon Hall pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Wealdon Hall is a 10-minute drive from Maidstone.

Waited over an hour for our food, and even though we were offered our desserts on the house we didn't feel we were taken care of very well

We arranged to have Sunday lunch at the Wealden Hall to celebrate two birthdays. The group was quite large (20 people in the end) and ranged in age from 3 to 84. Several families were involved and our numbers kept changing right up to the last minute. The Wealden Hall itself was wonderful - so old and atmospheric, yet still with the feel of a lively busy pub downstairs, and with live music outside and plentiful easy parking. The food was mostly pretty reasonable (my salmon in a sweet chilli sauce was delicious). Most of all, the staff, especially Carol our waitress, and Wesley (the manager) were so patient, friendly and helpful. Carol went out of her way to make sure we were happy and had a lovely time

We have eaten here before and thought the food was fantastic so we decided to come back. Being Father's Day there was a set menu and no other menu was offered to us. I had the roast beef which came with roast potatoes, veg and a Yorkshire pudding. The beef tasted awlful to the point it made me gag it was full of fat, the potatoes on the menu were described as crispy but they were almost just boiled potatoes that seemed to be dipped in oil and the vegetables were rock hard and the broccoli tasted out of date. The best part about it was the Yorkshire pudding. Even the chocolate brownie wasn't a brownie I was expecting it had honeycomb pieces in which is fine but that's not what was described on the menu. Over all we were really disappointed with the food. It's a shame as we really enjoyed it before and I know that with a set menu it's never 100% but I still have some standards of acceptable and it just wasn't.

This was our 2nd visit in the space of 7 days, and on both occasions, the food was outstanding, I couldn't fault it at all, the quality of our complete visit was perfect in every way, the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had at the time, I will definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends.

The restaurant is in a very historic building. We sat upstairs, where there was plenty of character and a very nice atmosphere. Food was lovely and portions very good - plenty of fish and meat with meals. Lots to choose from for every course. Good value for money.
