An elegant fine dining spot in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, the Waterside Brasserie is a majestic string in the bow of the 4-star Arden Hotel. The freshest, seasonal ingredients are incorporated into a menu of modern European dishes, served in a chic and contemporary setting by the River Avon.

Rich and flavourful dishes on the Waterside Brasserie menu include duck ‘two ways’, combining roast duck breast with confit duck leg pie, with accompanying chicory and orange puree. There’s pan-fried hake with pearl barley risotto, crab gnocchi and a crab and ginger sauce, while desserts include a wickedly delicious chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream and a chocolate sauce.

The Waterside Brasserie in Stratford boasts its own sophisticated champagne bar. Large arched windows flood natural light into the restaurant’s pastel interior, creating a bright and relaxed dining space.

    slow to get served. at least two possibly three tables were served before us though arrived after - ? because we ate a la carte?? skipped desert and still last to leave.
    despite the wait for "hot" starter the grilled peach and grilled octupus were stone cold on a hot plate with wilting salad. heavily salted fish acceptable but nearly overcooked

    Pre theatre menu good value for food but wine rather expensive.

    Every aspect of the service was good. In particular they were aware that we had a limited time before the theatre so the service was prompt without ever giving a feeling of being rushed. The dishes were quite small but tasty, especially the sea-bass - just what was needed for an early-evening meal.

    Faultless experience. I bought my boyfriend here on Sunday eveining for his birthday and we recived 5 star service from our waiter and his supervisor. I requested something special to be done online when booking the table and they bought him out a brownie and 2 desert wines on the house. Food amazing lovley wine, Will definitely be back!

    Pre-theatre dinner, so on a fixed timeline. The staff and chef were extremely helpful in sorting out vegan options for me and the food was delicious.

    While I will discuss issues with booking in more detail in the next section, it was clear the restaurant were not prepared for our arrival and the start of their early pre-theatre evening service which started at 5:00pm. After having to prove we were pre-booked, we were placed at a table next to some doors which in Summer I am sure they open on to the terrace. The table was clearly not a permanent fixture and as a result slid when leant on, was too small to fit the various dishes on and on a cold Winter's evening was breezy.

    We were given a menu each which did not contain the pre-theatre menu, although there was space for it, and then a drinks list which had no drinks listed. When we got the drinks list, we ordered a spiced mojito and a cider. After 15 mins and no drinks a waitress came and told my wife they had no mint so couldn't make her mojito. 5 mins later another waitress came and asked if I wanted ice with my cider. Eventually, both drinks came just before our main course arrived.

    Not being particularly inspired by the starters, we ordered our main course and deserts with a bread basket. We both ordered pea and mint ravioli (the kitchen clearly had mint and wouldn't share with the bar). This arrived quickly with no sign of the bread basket. Our bread arrived roughly half way through our main course which we pointed out to one of the managers. While he did take the cost of the bread off our bill, the issue was mainly etiquette rather than cost! The ravioli was fine - a decent light meal and both deserts were nice.

    I always have an issue with service charges being automatically added to bills unless the restaurant has consistently high service standards. I would have preferred to have chosen to tip the one waitress who tried her best to make our visit bearable than reward the whole establishment's service.

    At our count there was at least two managers, three waitresses and a barman so I cannot understand why service standards were so poor!
