My experience at watatsumi was amazing. The food was out of this world, the waitresses were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Very calm and nice atmosphere. I will definitly come back many many times.

Very good ingredients. Ordered beef menu as part of the London Restaurant festival. Portion was big enough for 2 thus too heavy and marinade was too thick and heavy. Main course which was also beef tasted almost the same. Heavy spicy miso marinade. Left an after taste in the mouth. Ordered Salmon Tataki. Instead of the true japanese style of subtle taste, salmon was almost soaked in yuzu sauce. I never remember eating Salmon tataki in YUZU sauce with a waiter serving wasabi to you.

The last words we said as leaving the restaurant were: we will be back! Pleasant atmosphere, unintrusive waitering and music, stylish yet simple design and ethos to the the whole operation. A find, especially for a Saturday evening. At first we were sceptical about a minimalistic wine list, only to be proved wrong. Quality and style is taken as a given, but not overly or elaborately advertised, which was a refreshing experience. The food equally so: simplicity reigns but volumes in taste. The presentation is tastefully Japanese with a modern twist. We marvled and enjoyed, even when the bill came along. Certainly good value for money. It is the kind of place you only tell your best friend about, wanting to keep it as your quiet little hide away treat.
