Upon arrival 10 minutes early we were told that it was going to rain and the bar was closing. When I asked for a single drink the reply was probably not. I insisted on at least taking in the view with the other dozen patrons. We were reminded that it was going to rain as we enjoyed the view. We were then told to sit and menus were presented and reminded that we would have to move downstairs shortly. I was more than happy and polite and understood that it was likely to pour down and of course we would move.. Awesome drinks arrived and we were reminded that the bar was closing because of the rain. Meanwhile none of our fellow guests were being harassed, and indeed meals arrived for a couple when it had been made clear we had BOOKED a lunch there, and even if we had to move downstairs, we would be continuing our experience with the hotel. However, twice more we were told it was going to rain as we enjoyed the first half of our drinks. Once, to enquire if this was a groupon experience (with the warning of rain) and secondly to deliver the bill. Finally, just after half the drink, another staff member arrived to insist I pay the bill as it might rain. When I asked her as to the urgency she finally explained that it was because a group earlier had got rained on and some had slipped out without paying. I do not look like a criminal and would have been happy to leave a tab at the bar upon entrance if it was my accent or the fact that my partner was Tinidadian that caused them to be afraid of us and not the other customers. Ironically I could not see the payment machine to remove the discretionary tip they had applied for good service, as the glare of the sun bursting through the clouds stopped me seeing the screen. (It did rain, three hours later). Finally at reception, once again the young lady I was talking to obviously did not understand my accent as when offered to speak to the food and beverage manager I said that it was a good idea; he never arrived!

Although the location is great , the food and drinks are over priced and the staff incredibly rude and as unhelpful as it is possible to to be. Rebooking due to the weather is also a frustration experience, turning what should be a fun afternoon / night out into a stressful and disappointing event. There are many better and more welcoming places in London so don't waste your time and money here!
