Vintage Salt offers a gourmet take on some of the nation’s most treasured dishes. This restaurant in Islington is headed up by a team boasting stints at some of London’s best restaurants, including Scott’s, Le Caprice and The Ivy.

Fresh seafood classics take centre stage on The Vintage Salt menu. Favourites like fish finger buttie with garden peas are joined by the likes of Scottish scampi tails, fish pie with smoked Cheddar crust, and baked Cornish cock crab. International flavours feature in the likes of shrimp burger with spicy tartare and tiger prawns with pickled chilli dressing. For non-seafood dishes, try salted beef with dumplings and USDA rib-eye with Rockefeller sauce.

Vintage Salt in Islington also offers indulgence in the form of a knickerbocker glory and a warming bramley apple and walnut cobbler. An impressive wine list comprises bottles from around the world, whilst creative cocktails are created at the bar. The breakfast menu adds some finesse to hearty classics, with the likes of Cornish crab and chilli omelette, or Manx kippers on toast with horseradish and poached egg available.

Filled with reclaimed pieces and private leather-clad booths, Vintage Salt in London is a 6-minute walk from Highbury & Islington Tube Station.

Excellent atmosphere and lovely fresh fesh. We had oysters and also scallops in watercress amd hazelnit oil which was delicious. Sea bream and Plaice with wintergreens and chunks of garlic - really really tasty, We really like it here but think the wine list is very limited, though they say they are expanding it so we look forward to that the next time we eat here.
