Vintage Salt in the City of London adds a gourmet touch to one of Britain’s favourite dishes. Craft beers, inventive cocktails and an al fresco terrace lend a contemporary twist to the sustainably sourced classics on the menu.

Fresh seafood classics take centre stage on The Vintage Salt menu. Favourites like fish finger buttie with garden peas are joined by the likes of Scottish scampi tails, fish pie with smoked Cheddar crust, and baked Cornish cock crab. International flavours feature in the likes of shrimp burger with spicy tartare and tiger prawns with pickled chilli dressing. For non-seafood dishes, try salted beef with dumplings and USDA rib-eye with Rockefeller sauce.

Vintage Salt in the City also offers indulgence in the form of a knickerbocker glory and a warming bramley apple and walnut cobbler. An impressive wine list comprises bottles from around the world, whilst creative cocktails are created at the bar. The breakfast menu adds some finesse to hearty classics, with the likes of Cornish crab and chilli omelette, or Manx kippers on toast with horseradish and poached egg available.

In the heart of the City, Vintage Salt on Old Broad Street is a 1-minute walk from Liverpool Street Train Station.

very good service. turned down the music when we asked. delightful whitebait and oysters to start. very fresh oysters. whitebait cooked to perfection. fish and chips next - very tasty. good atmostphere. we stayed for 4 hours and conducted very successful business meeting in corner table.

Great tapas style appetizers, good selection. Fish and chips also some of the best I've had - light me fluffy fish and thick cut chips. Happy hour busy with nearby office workers so not a great spot for a quiet dinner or table conversation as dining area, while sectioned off and dedicated, is immediately beside the bar area.

The food was really good and reasonably priced. However, the wine was expensive and not particularly nice. For us, the restaurant was too noisy. Most people were just drinking in the bar and had made the most of the happy hour! Fine, but not if you want to have a chat over a meal with your friends.

Fresh fish and seafood cooked to crispy perfection. The selection of small starters is outstanding - not in number but in varity. The staff was super friendly and service minded. The bar was full with happy people this Friday so one should be prepared for the noise level. For drinks try VT drinks and not least their own labeled English sparkling. It goes great with the seafood.
