It was really good

Opened around the 10-year anniversary of the original Farringdon restaurant, Vinoteca King’s Cross is the fifth branch of the award-winning wine bar-cum-restaurant fleet. Led by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse’s protégé, Kieren Steinborn, this wine-focused restaurant offers a suggested wine pairing with every dish.
Vinoteca in King’s Cross boasts several striking features, namely imposing pillars at the restaurant front, and a 20-foot, horseshoe-shaped zinc bar, which acts as a stunning focal point. It is also the first Vinoteca to serve breakfast, which can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the King’s Boulevard.
285 wines are on offer in bottles, on tap, and in a keg and box. The Mediterranean-influenced Vinoteca menu features seasonal, rustic dishes, such as Windsor Farm pork belly with celeriac and apple remoulade, and the ever-popular marinated bavette with watercress and horseradish chips. The desserts include a honey and walnut semifreddo, and chocolate truffles.
A refined addition to the group, this Vinoteca restaurant in London is a 4-minute walk from King’s Cross Station.

It was really good

There is a small group of us who regularly meet for dinner and often use the King's Cross area because of its convenience. So this is not our first experience of the area though it was of this particular part of the Vinoteca chain. The food was good, well prepared and presented and we had a very enjoyable evening here. What made a particularly good impression, however, was the staff. They were attentive without being obsequious and also steered us towards some good (and good value) wine.

Vinoteca is not the place to go to if you want a quiet romantic meal. It is quite large and noisy, but is very good value for money and the 3 times I have been there the food has been very good as has the service. The wine list is also very extensive with a good range of prices. I would highly recommend it for a meal with family/friends.

The food was great, but the service was poor. They forgot our side dishes - we had to chase them up twice about this. It was also difficult trying to get waiting staff to come and serve our table. Even trying to pay at the end of the meal was hard work!

Was meeting a friend for dinner so gave him a selection of restaurants from the new development around Kings Cross/St Pancras - Vinoteca was one of the three he came back with and had been the one I fancied. Very good pick - lovely staff and the food and wine was just great. Friend who is from out of town very impressed and I know i will be going there again not just with him but other friends. Easy to find and easy to get around from - plenty of choice, good value for money and an excellent wine list. All in all, very good. Discovered today that one of my work mates uses it regularly as he loves it in there too.

Lovely atmosphere, very busy but staff were friendly and attentive. We all had a Sunday roast, beef, lamb and pork belly plenty of fresh veg, delicious wine and a lovely wintry apple crumble to finish.
