Opened around the 10-year anniversary of the original Farringdon restaurant, Vinoteca King’s Cross is the fifth branch of the award-winning wine bar-cum-restaurant fleet. Led by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse’s protégé, Kieren Steinborn, this wine-focused restaurant offers a suggested wine pairing with every dish.

Vinoteca in King’s Cross boasts several striking features, namely imposing pillars at the restaurant front, and a 20-foot, horseshoe-shaped zinc bar, which acts as a stunning focal point. It is also the first Vinoteca to serve breakfast, which can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the King’s Boulevard.

285 wines are on offer in bottles, on tap, and in a keg and box. The Mediterranean-influenced Vinoteca menu features seasonal, rustic dishes, such as Windsor Farm pork belly with celeriac and apple remoulade, and the ever-popular marinated bavette with watercress and horseradish chips. The desserts include a honey and walnut semifreddo, and chocolate truffles.

A refined addition to the group, this Vinoteca restaurant in London is a 4-minute walk from King’s Cross Station.

Excellent food but very slow service. We arrived for a 9.30 booking and there were no wine glasses available for 20 minutes .... In a restaurant that prides itself on its wines.

The food was great but the service was very poor. 3 of the 4 main courses arrived before wine, the half way trough the main the nibble arrived then the last main course. Coffee after desert never came. It was our mothers 70th birthday dinner I would not go there again. So sad that the food was great.

Fantastic menu choice with excellently prepared foods I had the crab starter followed by Rissotto all very good and well cooked and presented with decent sized portions. Friend had sardines starter and the Bavette. On our other visit we had the Brill and the Hake -all excellent! - and great wines! Service was professional & polite the Staff knowledgeable clearly demonstrating they knew the menu dishes & the wines & friendly & able to make recommendations. Great layout of restaurant, bar area & outside area all in a great setting. Good atmosphere. A fantastic place to eat!

Vinoteca is in a super spot sandwiched between Kings Cross & St Pancras. I was there on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. After reading some of the reviews below I was worried about the service. But I didnt have to be. There is lovely relaxed outside seating if the weather is good and inside the room is very airey with double height ceilings and full of glass to bring in lots of light. Service couldnt have been better ! Orders were taken efficiently - our orders were simple sunday roasts all round and when a coffee was missed the extra coffee was brought quickly and it was done very cheerfully. Also we were offered tasters of various wines ! The Sunday roasts were delicious between £16- 18 which is normal for London these days. The wine was v nice. The wine list was fun & helpful and there are lots of it. The list also shows prices if you wanted to buy from the shop which is at the back ! All in all very happy with the place. I would go back again for sure.
