Great food and very helpful staff. Bit short on vegetarian options without having to eat yet another pasta.
I like the recommended wines with each dish.
The bill of over £100 when it came was a huge shock, but fortunately it was someone else's/

Opened around the 10-year anniversary of the original Farringdon restaurant, Vinoteca King’s Cross is the fifth branch of the award-winning wine bar-cum-restaurant fleet. Led by Michelin-starred chef Alain Ducasse’s protégé, Kieren Steinborn, this wine-focused restaurant offers a suggested wine pairing with every dish.

Vinoteca in King’s Cross boasts several striking features, namely imposing pillars at the restaurant front, and a 20-foot, horseshoe-shaped zinc bar, which acts as a stunning focal point. It is also the first Vinoteca to serve breakfast, which can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the King’s Boulevard.

285 wines are on offer in bottles, on tap, and in a keg and box. The Mediterranean-influenced Vinoteca menu features seasonal, rustic dishes, such as Windsor Farm pork belly with celeriac and apple remoulade, and the ever-popular marinated bavette with watercress and horseradish chips. The desserts include a honey and walnut semifreddo, and chocolate truffles.

A refined addition to the group, this Vinoteca restaurant in London is a 4-minute walk from King’s Cross Station.

Excellent! We lunched here last year and really enjoyed it but thought that maybe it had just been a one off - not a bit of it... We chose the 2 course lunch special which was delicious, beautifully cooked and a real bargain. But not only that - a really welcoming atmosphere and wonderful waiting service. To top it all, our lovely waitress managed to recognise us from our last visit.
Thank you so much for a beautiful lunch - we shan't leave it so long next time.

We were late because there was a delay in the tube having just come straight from Gatwick. The lady kindly gave us another table and we had a lovely meal there. It was wonderful that it was so close to the theatre so no rushing!
    Thanks again. take care.

I booked Vinoteca as this was an option online, which is my preferred method of booking. I had heard of Vinoteca and was keen to dine there, and liked the look of the sample menu on the website. The experience did not disappoint, and we were very pleased with our choice. The general ambiance of the restaurant was great and staff attentive but never overbearing. Our table was ready even though we were early, and we felt no pressure to move on after we'd finished eating and had time to properly catch up with a friend (which was the primary reason for meeting and dining together). My starter of smoked trout pate was tasty and quite adequate if not huge, and my co-diner's soup and polenta with wild mushrooms both made me jealous. Two of us had turkey with chestnuts and cranberry on a rich stew which was really delicious, and our third diner was equally pleased with his bavette, cooked to perfection. Our rose wine was reasonably priced and amazingly chilled. In all, the experience fulfilled our needs perfectly and the location could not be more convenient for King's Cross. A great experience, thanks!

The food was nice, and overall we paid £30 for two people which is very reasonable, which included the orrechiette, baked squash and mozzarella, strawberry and banana smoothie, elderflower and soda, and two coffees. The orrechiette was in the smaller portion, but still a rather large portion for lunch! The squash was the opposite - rather small, but with enough mozzarella to make it a nice small lunch-time portion.

Service was fine and the restaurant itself was airy and well-lit.

Excellent food but very slow service. We arrived for a 9.30 booking and there were no wine glasses available for 20 minutes .... In a restaurant that prides itself on its wines.
