We arrived at 8.20 for an 8.30 booking. Place wasnt that busy for a thursday evening yet we still had to wait at least 5 min for the 2 members of staff to notice us. We were seated and waited 10 min to give drinks order, waited another 10 min before told the white wine was unavailable. ordered a different drink & again 5 min later told that drink wasnt avaiable. waited 30 min for starters to be told 1 was unavailable. waited to long for food that was available. venue seemed to be over run with flies.Staff were pleasant but over worked as not enough. Food was nice but service really let you down, Other diners also were making comments about how long they waited for drinks, food and the Bill will not recommend to friends

The chairs were very fragile and felt as if they were about to break. The wine was warm. The waiteress seemed very nervous and inexperienced. The food was just ok but the portions were tiny and you had to pay seperately for side dishes which is strange if you have paid for a 3 course meal. Out of 4 desserts on the menu only 2 were available.

Our booking was for 8.30pm we had a make shift table with fold up chairs to sit on that were totally uncomfortable. We were seated half way down the bar as they had over booked. We waited over 45 mins for our mains. Our drinnks were extremly watery due to loads of ice being added. Whilst eating our desserts people came behind my partner to get served at the bar. We had to complain twice to put a stop to it. The waitress was very friendly.

Unfortunately, there is nothing positive to say. We were situated in the middle on a pop-up table with really hard chairs, service was slow, food was mediocre and presentation somewhat to be desired. We felt after a certain time that the table was required, from the constant hassle of the waiter; as (i believe) it turns in to a late night bar. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.

My husband and I popped in to Veranda to have something to eat. The restaurant opens at 6pm and we had to be somewhere else before 7pm. Although it was only 5.30pm and the tables were all booked, we were very kindly offered a table for our quick meal, which was delivered (as promised ) within 15min from ordering. The staff both at the bar and restaurant part were very accommodating and polite without being 'too much' meaning jumping at you the second you stepped in. The food was beautifully presented and simply delicious! Flavoursome and just enough of it! It was also reasonably priced, which is always a nice touch. Great service on all fronts, good music, nice vibe and decent house wine! Overall, I think it's safe to say that we will definitely be back there.

I felt that the food was not as great as everybody made out to be. When I went there previously I had great food the service was poor but the food was excellent. This time around the food was poor the waitress was chewing bubble gum had these horrid false eyelashes on which could have dropped off in my food at any time. I asked if the food was cooked by the same chef Anthony Cumberbatch as when I had come the first time which was around august 2011. The waitress never really replied she avoided the question which I found was quite rude. As when a customer asks something the least you could do is reply. The food took such a long time to come and when it did come I was not impressed at all the flavours were not there and the presentation did not look great like the last time. I asked the waitress again if I could talk with the head chef and she refused. she said at first he was busy then said he was not in and after everything decided to say he was no longer with the establishment. I was disappointed because I had viewed the website before booking and they have Anthony Cumberbatch as there head chef advertised. Now surely if a member of staff has left your team the least they could do is take down his details from the website. Instead what do they do falsely advertise him as being the head chef and he is not even with the company. How disappointed and rude and unprofessional of them to do such a thing. One thing to not have good food but another to spoil a professional chefs reputation by serving food which is not to his standard. I have tried to contact management but yet no body ever gets back to you or returns your messages. This is not a venue/ restaurant that i would recommend to anyone due to there lack of professionalism and also the deceit. When my partner rang the next day to ask if Anthony is still the head chef they said no he is PR. To my knowledge I am a true follower of Mr Cumberbatch and he has never done PR in his life i felt like what a cheek to say something so low and untruthful .

well ive been twice in the evening, the presentatiion of the meal was what got me, and it actually taste great, it is quite small some of the portions, which is annoying, but i always end up getting full, as i make sure i order starters ect. the staff try to be as professional as they can, but they look as if they are all under pressure, also they forget things at times. food can take long at times especially if busy. but you can see its a new business and they are trying out different techniques to see what works in terms of food ect. overall i would not put them down, theyre fod is great!!!
