Veeraswamy, UK's oldest Indian restaurant in Piccadilly, has been the rendezvous of the famous and fashionable as well as lots of ordinary lovers of Indian food since its inception in 1926. The luxurious, chic, and exotic décor evokes Maharaja's palaces of the 1920s. A menu of classical dishes from throughout India is combined with more contemporary creations.

National Geographic, the highly respected travel magazine, has ranked it as one of the 10 Best Destination Restaurants in the World. No other UK restaurant is in this top 10 list.

We make it a point always to book at Veeraswamy's whenever we visit London. The oldest - and the best - Indian restaurant in the UK? Exceptional service, fabulous ambience and exquisite dishes. OK, not exactly the cheapest deals around, but you get what you pay for.
    Thoroughly recommended.

Dining here has been one of life's pleasures since my first visit 22 years ago. I'm lucky to pass through London 2 or 3 times a year and I always treat myself to a high-qualiity meal there.

Dined early evening. Fri and weekend evenings are quite busy and reservation is a must. The menu is renewed periodically and never a disappointment. The staff knows the menu very well and their recommendations are always excellent. Can't go wrong in this restaurant.

early dinner on first day of Olympics. Food, service and atmosphere never fails to impress. Food is glorious - starters, lobster curry, sea bass. The menu is diverse from indian regions. Desserts a delight - trio of jellies.

We visited on Sunday, 29/7/12, at 6, and were the first to arrive for dinner. Everything was delicious! One thing we weren't so thrilled about was getting charged for 2 bottles of water; they should have asked before assuming we wanted to pay ridiculous prices for something you can get from the garden hose for free.
