My first experience of dining at Vardons was excellent the services was of a high quality, as for the dining area it was a higher class than I had been to before some very bold features in the beams and high ceilings with a modern décor twist but still that element of class.

after sitting in the lobby and having a few drinks we was escorted to the table, drinks taken to the table by our waiter and we was seated. we opted for the 3 course meal at £25 this involved a starter main and desert. I opted for the fillet steak which was cooked medium and when came out was cooked to perfection and was a high quality piece of fillet.

the starter main and desert came all in good time, it was very professionally set up !

food quality for me was 10/10
    waiter service was 10/10
drinks/hot beverages 6/10 ( reason being the prices was almost as expensive as the meal & the quality and selection wasn't very good)

the only downside to the night was that when we sat in the lounge area and had coffees I felt the waiter service was more orientated on the customer that had just been seated I had to ask for my bill 3 times and still didn't receive so decided to get up and wait beside the till until someone noticed I was waiting to pay

I did tip due to the fact the meal was of good quality and the waiter couldn't do enough

overall rating for a first time experience was 10/10 but would only visit on special occasions

Having dined here on a few occasions I was confident the food and service would be of an excellent standard and was not disappointed. Although rather quiet for a Friday lunchtime this did not spoil the experience and my dining companions were equally impressed on this their first visit.

3 of us dined at Vardons on Saturday 23rd August and we all had a very enjoyable meal. The service was excellent. A knife was dropped and was immediately replaced with a clean one on a plate. We all had the set price meal and thought it was worth the £25.00 especially on a Saturday night. The only little thing, and this is nit picking, was that the bread that came with the soup was all homemade and a lovely variety but only 5 pieces and there were three of us. Two pieces each, as it was only small would have been better, and it was really good. A very enjoyable evening!

First time dined here, the food was excellent , very good and varied choices, standard couldn't fault. Would certainly return, especially as it's only five minutes drive away from home. Views over the Golf Course amazing

My friend and I had a relaxing peaceful evening 'catching up' and the service was friendly, excellent but unobtrusive. Our Kir Royale cocktails were great as was our wine, and there was a vegetarian option for me too. I have dined at Shaw Hill before and I do think that the vegetarian menu has improved over the years.
