slightly disapointed that they were out of their excellent burger, however my second choice, the bacon, sausage, letuce and tomato sandwich was excellent, loads of filling, great value for money at just [$] (including chips). The ham egg and chips were not quite as impressive or as good value for money in our opinion.the puddings were very tasty, good sized portions and great value for money.would definitely return

[...]The place was really cold but the people are lovely and friendly. The unique selling point is sausages, but we were very disappointed with the range only 3 types one being vegetarian and no mix and match option we had to swap sausages amongst ourselves. You get 3 of the same sausages which didnt seem enough. We understood the sausages were made by the chef according to literature but later learned this may not be the case and may be bought in which again is a disappointment. Despite these negatives the food is very nice. The homemade sauces are great especially chilli jam.

We dined at lunch on a Sunday. There was steady business for the one staff member who coped magnificently with influx of patrons. The food was top dollar, excellent presentation, cooked to perfection, delicious. Pudding was a fabulous tasty surprise as I usually find one doesn't always get decent pudding after a great meal. The name doesn't make one think of a higher end restaurant but this is what ES&G is, without the price tag. Well worth a visit for dinner and drinks, right on the doorstep of Exeter for a great night out. The toilets were lush too. I'm going to check the cocktail bar out next time!
