Lovely setting, very bright and open feel decor. Staff helpful and polite. Special mention to the bar tender who made us a great Mai Tai cocktail!! Food was very good and the star deal great value.

From renowned chef Anthony Demetre, Urban Coterie offers ingredient-led seasonal cooking with spectacular views of London. Exquisitely presented dishes are crafted in the open kitchen, whilst an extensive selection of wines and cocktails are on offer at the bar.

The Urban Coterie menu blends rich, seasonal flavours. For lunch with a view, try tagliatelle of cuttlefish with squid ink, or slow-cooked ox cheeks, followed by a lemon tart with candied zest. At dinner, discover the likes of haunch of venison with date and Armagnac jam, roast halibut with mussels and sweet onions, or belly of pork with heritage carrot, cavolo nero and grapefruit relish.

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the city views, with wooden floors and contemporary décor adding to the urban theme. Urban Coterie in London is also home to a chic bar, serving an impressive selection of world wines and creative cocktails.

Enjoy a relaxed vibe and 'travel the world' via sparkling wine at Urban Coterie's 16th-floor lounge. Choose a ‘wine of the week’ from the blackboard or receive a recommendation from a member of the team, and order an artisan cheeseboard for the table to share.

Urban Coterie restaurant sits high above City Road, a 2-minute walk from Old Street Tube Station.

The restaurant is located in a very modern hotel and it is on the top floor so the views are beautiful. The food was good too, specially the main dish (brilliant meat) and mango desert.

Really impressive views over London. Food was ok, reasonable value on the 3 courses for £29 offer.

Nice views, modern decor, food is standard, staff are standard. Portions are very small for the meal deals and beware there is an extra charge of £4 for potatoes (for which you get 3 small new potatoes!!), or a handful (if that) of spinach.

If you're looking for a pleasent, but nothing spectacular restaurant in the Old Street area it's ok, I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

I booked to Urban Coterie for a friend's 40th birthday. I requested on the booking that if we could have a window table we'd really like it as it was a special birthday. When we were seated I had forgotten I had made that request, but after being seated for 5mins a table by the window because available and they came and asked us if we would like it. Then helped us move and they gave my friend a special birthday dessert and sang her happy birthday. The pre dinner cocktails we had were delicious. The food was divine and we were all happy with all of our choices. The atmosphere was really good. The service was attentive without being in your face and feeling like someone was constantly there. I would definitely go there again. All in all Urban Coterie made for a perfect 40th birthday dinner. The only disappointment was the weather seeing as it was pouring down raining and I'm sure that if they could have changed that for us they would have.
I would definitely recommend this place and go back again.

The restaurant itself is lovely - although the view is currently marred by huge cranes and building work outside. The ambience was very nice. However, I thought the food would be better. The starter was lovely, no complaints. It was also lovely that they had some gluten free bread for my friend. The main was extremely disappointing. Piece of beef - which came with one spring onion, half a mushroom and a thick sauce like butter. The beef was nice, but hugely underseasoned and it could have done with an actual sauce, not just the thick stuff - although it was nice. The whole dish looked pretty but was very underwhelming - just really didn't taste of much at all. No amazing flavour from the beef - or the small accompaniments. We ordered a side of 'roast potatoes' as we thought it may be small. Two large (hard) boiled potatoes that had been shown to the inside of an oven for about 3 minutes turned up. The waiter did take them off the bill as they were hard but a slight stretch to call them 'roasted'. My friend's chocolate dessert was lovely. My rhubarb trifle was predominantly cream with a small amount of rhubarb and custard at the bottom. Overall, wouldn't return or recommend - although we dined on the £30 deal - by the time you have had drinks and they add the obligatory 12.5%, you are looking at £50 each for a very disappointing meal.
