Holding the only Michelin Star in North Wales, as well as featuring in the Good Food Guide and The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants 2014, Tyddyn Llan is not short on accolades. Perfectly executed, traditional dishes are served in a Georgian country house with serene gardens and views of the Welsh mountains.

The Tyddyn Llan menu is packed with strong flavours, including fillet, cheek and belly of pork, with black pudding, breaded trotter and shallot thyme purée. Equally enticing is loin of venison with goats’ cheese gnocchi, port and elderberries, or turbot with coco beans, Morteau sausage and watercress sauce.

Whether dining a la carte, or choosing from the 6 or 9-course tasting menus, desserts at Tyddyn Llan Llandrillo are spectacular. Try damson soup with blackberries and cinnamon ice cream, pannacotta with poached figs and honey, or whimberry crème brulée. A lengthy wine list is also available.

Offering award-winning food amidst stunning scenery, Tyddyn Llan restaurant is 25 miles from Wrexham.

Excellent, 3rd time here, I have done the full taster menu with wine, the smaller taster menu without wine and now Sunday lunch. Gutted I didn't make it down for breakfast

This was our first visit to Tyddyn Llan and we found the staff very friendly and welcoming, in fact the whole place had a warm and unstuffy atmosphere. Our staters of griddled scallops for me and lobster for my husband were cooked perfectly and both were incredibly tasty. We both had steak for mains, both again cooked perfectly and the sauce au poivre was delicious. My husband also very much enjoyed his creme brûlée with pistachio ice cream. The portions were all a good size, I have found that small portions are often a criticism of Michellin recommended restaurants but not in this case. It was also good to see reasonably priced wines on the extensive list. We are both looking forward to a return visit on Friday before we return home

Beautiful surroundings outside and in, warm friendly welcome, discrete but attentive service and excellent food & drink at reasonable prices for top end quality.

    Can't fault it!

Always wonderful food though I feel the drinks, particularly spirits, have become far too expensive. Sunday lunches are always fabulous. I am not impressed however by automatic gratuity being added to the bill as it was £25+ And I would prefer if you just priced the meals one the menu rather than having three courses for £36 but additional charges for lobster, scallops, beef etc. Be more honest please as this lets you down. Hidden costs always put people off and I will think long and hard before booking again as £70 plus each for a Sunday lunch, no matter how good the food is, is rather extortionate.

A pleasant enough meal and good service in a nice environment. That said, the restaurant has a Michelin star and, as someone who visits starred establishments at least 10 times a year both at home and abroad, in my opinion Tyddyn Llan does not meet that standard. Given the cost of the meal it didn't meet expectations.
