I had lunch yesterday at Tuttons with one of my best friends, and as usual it was excellent - food, service, staff, ambience. It couldn't be faulted! I will be dining there again very soon. Absolutely fantastic!

If your looking for a quiet spot to have dinner then this is not the place to go. But if u want a buzzing atmosphere, good food and prompt friendly service then head here. I would not have the Welsh rarebit tart to start again as it was a bit bland for my tastes but the mussels as a main were spot on. Everyone had clean dishes, full tummies and smiles on faces by the end of the meal. So I would definitely recommend this place if there is a small group of you and your heading off to see a show. Great way to start your evening :)

The service was exceptional, and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience - however my two concerns were:
Two of us ordered the sea bass, and it was ver over cooked.
And I found it pricy if, as we would, want to dine out often. perhaps it would be an idea to have some menu options at
    a lower price.
I have always loved Tuttons - wasn't too sure about it after its renovation and avoided it - but its charm seems to have returned,
albeit the decor a little bit over the top - it must look more relaxed - and the prices should be considered if now wants to welcome
old retainers!! Don't make it too business like!!

had a great time here, but that was more to do with the company I was with. the food and drink were good, nothing that would blow you away! the service was excellent....but it ought to be, they cheekily add a service charge before you've even looked at the menu !! but this is typical in London.. I booked a 50% off the food deal, but when the bill came this wasn't deducted. my booking was checked, it appeared staff knew nothing of such a deal......luckily I had my testcard with me, and I got my discount without further fuss.

I rarely write reviews, but use them frequently, so therefore I thought it was time to give something back.
I was hugely disappointed in my visit to Tutton’s in covent garden. If this was a case of my expectations being too high, of the actual quality of the food, I am still slightly unsure.
I booked the restaurant for my 10th wedding anniversary following searches for “London’s best steakhouses”. Unfortunately the Hawksmoor and Sophies we fully booked, so options were limited. This is my comment regarding expectations, as I was expecting Tutton’s to be in the same league as these, but they are worlds apart, with the expectation of the steak prices.
I ordered as start of scallop’s, which were fine, but didn’t really warrant a £12 price tag. Also there were slightly burnt, rather than golden.
The people either side of us at the table both had steaks and there looked very uninspiring, and neither myself or my wife ordered them, which is a very rare occurrence!.
Instead, I opted for the pork, and my wife the lamb. Again, the pork was “okay”, but was nothing special. My wife’s lamb on the other hand was not good at all. It was largely gristle, and came served with a cous cous type side, and mixed vegetable, the sort of thing that would come straight from a can.
Desserts were the highlight of an otherwise forgettable experience, chocolate fudge brownie was light and the liquor coffee was really nice.
All in all, this would be an instantly forgettable experience, if it had not been a 10th wedding anniversary, so there will always be an air of disappointment associated with this experience.
As a comparison, I visited a Miller and Cater on the Thursday night before, had a truly delicious meal, which was £30 cheaper.

Siirloin steak was excellent value with the Tastecard deal. English Garden was an inspired cocktail & Pimms with Cointreau (as well as all the usual elements) was an interesting twist on the original. Service a little slow but very friendly.

We had very enjoyable evening in Tuttons; party of 4 for dinner. Both food and service were very good. We did however use Tastecard offer of 50% off the total food bill. Wine was very good too and not too pricey. I recommend their South African Chenin Blanc.

The service, food and restaurant itself were superb and a perfect place to start our evening in theatre land. We had a very warm welcome from the staff on arrival and were shown straight to our table. The waiting staff were very efficient and organised given the restaurant was very busy and our food came out in good time and was top quality from starters through to desert. I have to say that sometimes when restaurants get busy the level of service or the quality of the food can suffer but not on this occasion. I would highly recommend Tuttons to anyone who is going to Covent Garden whether that's for a pre theatre drink or meal, the staff are great the food is fantastic and the Pino is even better!
