Holder of 2 AA Rosettes, Tudors Restaurant at Mary Green Manor Hotel serves creative European food in a grand 16th-century building. Dark wooden beams and extravagant artwork for create a unique environment for the exquisitely presented dishes.
The Tudors restaurant menu is led by rich, seasonal flavours. Favourites include guinea fowl with white onion purée and boudin blanc, venison rack with curly kale and truffle mash, and duck breast with pak choi and wild mushrooms. Amongst the irresistible fish options are halibut with samphire and purple sprouting broccoli, and whole Dover sole with beurre noisette.

The afternoon tea was very disappointing.
The sandwiches were very bland.
My Sister and I agreed we have had better sandwiches from a garage.
The cakes were better but still lacking flavour.
Was sadly quite a let down for my birthday celebration.
We were also told there wasn't room for us in the conservatory so they had to put us in the restaurant.
The toilets were also out of order so we had to walk to reception ask for a room key to room number 1.
This was quite a walk from the restaurant and not ideal for my pregnant Sister.

Excellent afternoon tea. Friendly staff, lovely conservatory and unhurried, relaxed atmosphere. Spent a lovely couple of hours with family. Highly recommend.

We were seated in the conservatory, the table setting and service were excellent. We chose the traditional and fruit teas, both of which were excellent. Service was helpful but not intrusive. The conservatory was quite warm and could have benefitted from a fan or two? The sandwiches were fresh and delicious as were the selection of fruit and plain scones and accompanying cakes. All in all, a very good afternoon tea without having to travel to London as we have previously done.

Couldn't help but leave feeling slightly disappointed . Our party of three chose the tasting menu paired with complementary wines. Whilst the food was of high quality the lack of interaction with the waiting staff left it all feeling slightly flat. Wine was brought to the table in the glass with no sight of the bottle or explanation of the pairing.
I think a little training for the staff on what they're serving and why it's paired with individual wines would not be time wasted.

Afternoon Tea - booked a couple of weeks in advance through Bookatable and had no problems when we arrived. The process was very easy and user friendly. The place is beautiful and has disabled parking directly outside the entrance, useful for me in a wheelchair. Our booking was in the conservatory, up a small step, but still no problem because without being asked the waiter immediately brought a small ramp which enabled us to get up the step without any issues. Our choice of tea was brought almost immediately and the afternoon tea stand was brought a short while later. The conservatory was full but there was room for my (and one other) wheelchair without any problems and despite being incredibly busy our waiter kept an eye on us and brought more tea when required and made sure that we didn't require anything. The food was wonderful. We had a selection of full finger sandwiches (egg mayo; smoked salmon; ham and cucumber; cheese and tomato), a selection of small pastries (a passion fruit and cream layered sponge; a strawberry and bakers cream glazed tartlet; an iced fresh cream finger eclair; and the only thing which we weren't keen on which was a cut slice of what appeared to be a tray bake of rich tea biscuits layered with chocolate butter cream). On the top of the stand was four home made beautifully tasty scones with a pot of jam and a pot of clotted cream. The food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. I cannot recommend Mary Green Manor highly enough. Beautiful place with caring staff and wonderful food. Give it a try. We have already booked again for another afternoon tea in August!!!

Okay, really don't like it when things removed from the table when people are still eating.

Excellent service , lovely surroundings and good food . Although my fiancée realised she didn't like veal ! The lamb was top notch and they had a good selection of wine .
