Trishna in London is the sister restaurant of celebrated Gymkhana, one of the most highly regarded Indian restaurants in London.

Food is delicious. Not served especially hot temperature wise which meant we left a lot of delicious sauces, potatoes and so on as they were cold. The waiting staff are chilly rather than charming (no eye contact) and the waiter topping up water glasses never failed to spill some. The room is very small and pretty with wood panels and old glass but doesn't have much ambience. No tablecloths, formica tops but none of the Mumbai brio of Dishoom, for instance. Not sure I would bother to make the detour to Marylebone again to dine here but I did see various deliveroo drivers in the tiny reception so if you live in the area that would be a good option.

We booked their 3 course meal with cocktails. We asked for the details of the menu as they were unfamiliar. The starter I selected was supposed to be fish as explained by the waiter, but it was actually squid calamari which I am allergic, and it was also too oily. I ordered chicken for mains which is really good, and dessert was also good. I expected more from the food though, knowing they are Michelin starred restaurant. I could have the same if not better food from the local Indian resto in my local neighbourhood in Canary Wharf.

The food and cocktails were lovely. Great service. The apple and blackcurrant dessert in particular was superb.

An upscale Indian restaurant that offers dishes with more individual character than the average - albeit that the price reflects this.
The service was excellent, very helpful and well paced. The wine selection was also good but we preferred to order ourselves than take their different wine with each course. Went at lunchtime and I had three courses from their 'bites' menu but this was still plenty of food. My wife had the four course tasting menu (with many of the same options) and also enjoyed it.
Desserts were a little disappointing but overall a very good experience - particularly if it is a special occasion.
