In a word...excellent. From walking in the door and being met by bright friendly staff to the serving staff the whole evening was great. The food was also very good and the offer menu was good value for money and encouraged us to try dishes we might not have thought about ordering.

From the team behind Marcus Wareing’s fleet of restaurants, Tredwells in Covent Garden is a modern take on London traditions. Winner of AA's Restaurant of the Year - London, delicious cocktails join fresh, seasonal produce in a restaurant that’s clearly proud of its location at the heart of the capital.

Amongst the tempting starters on the Tredwells restaurant menu is harissa-glazed aubergine with peanuts, coriander and chilli. Main dishes are rich in flavour and whilst the menu continues to evolve, items such as the Chateaubriand have become instant classics.

From the plush leather seating or metal bar stools, enjoy London-themed cocktails, world wines and craft beers. Tredwells also plays host to live jazz sessions every Friday and Saturday.

    The food was amazing. The mini almond cakes with my panna cotta were the best cakes I've ever eaten and would love to know the recipe.

    Too many staff in reception upon arrival. Once ready to go to the first floor restuarant only one member of staff appeared to be responsible for showing the way and she was occupied with another guest. Pleasant area on the first floor. Presented with tepid tap water without asking first. Good set menu, although starter portion extremely small. Wine selection is good. Coffee was presented tepid. Srvice overall good.

    This was our favourite restaurant but really not sure after last night. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere. Very busy but staff coped well. Kitchen struggled. The steak off the theatre menu really wasn't fit to be served. Initially served cold on a cold plate. Sent back to be heated up. Came back in pretty much the same state. It was tough as old boots. I don't think Marcus Wareing would have been happy to have been confronted with it. The sea bream that my wife ordered was very good, as was the pork filet that another of our party ordered, but 2 of us had the steak and wished we hadn't.

    Perfect welcome and swiftly taken to the table. Party of 2, we had an early booking at 18.15. Glad we had table on first floor, though the basement room also looked great. The ground floor room was lovely because of the bar but felt a little chilly at the front end/near the large windows/door. Chose from the 3 course set menu + a glass of champagne. Best champagne have drank in ages, though can't remember name, was not the rose' but the other one £14 per glass. Food absolutely delicious. No bread was offered but was probably on the menu and I forgot to order it.

    Beautiful dining experience! Adored duck raviolo, lemon sole nice but very small and slightly unbalanced, sides excellent!

    The service was superb, very attentive staff at all times. They instantly asked who had a nut allergy (my daughter) and checked the menu with her. Unbeknown to me another of our party has a red pepper allergy. When she enquired about this possibly being present in the pork dish, the waitress went to find out, and then another member of staff came back saying the long ingredient list showed red pepper powder so they would give her a different veg. Our starters were all lovely....we had all opted for the fixed price, three course menu. My raviolo was the best part of the meal, seconded by the triple cooked chips with my sea bream. The only slight disappointment was the salted caramel dessert that my husband had. We all tried it and all thought it rather too salty. We noticed other diners could not finish theirs either. BUT the whole meal was great, we all went hope, happy and not stuffed, just really contented.
    The bread at the start was said to be delicious; I did not try it myself as I wanted to eat all of the rest of the food.
    Thank you for letting us have a lovely weekday dinner, at a really accessible cost. Will hope to visit again in the near future.

    We went here on the 3 courses plus cocktail and chocolates deal and we were very happy with the deal, the food, the ambience (we could have a conversation without having to shout) and the service. Especially the service. We would definitely go again deal or no deal.

    We booked this as a pre show meal (The Mouse Trap ) . We chose from the set menu but that did not detract from the quality of food or service, the staff could not be more attentive or the level of service higher . The food was of the highest quality , cooked to perfection ,with the wine to complement each course . we both had the ' HANGER STEAK' wow the flavor its like the steak i remember from when i used to be a butcher ,full of flavor . The booking was easy with email conformation and a call the day before to remind you , one of the best meals we have had for a wile .
