Located in the heart of South Kensington, the Town House restaurant & bar is an all-day dining haven, accessed through its own discreet entrance on Manson Place. While away an afternoon over a delicious classic afternoon tea or sip exquisite cocktails at the adjacent K Bar.

Executive Chef Steve Gibbs, formerly of Hix and Caprice Holdings, has created a menu to match all tastes where the emphasis is on fresh produce focusing on the seasons, balanced with its hand-picked wine list with something for everyone.

Designed by Alexander Waterworth, the interiors reflect the building's natural charm and old English Town House aesthetic, with a specially-curated library also adding to the charm. The Town House’s period rooms – consisting of 3 beautiful interconnecting spaces - of what were once individual Regency style townhouses, feature bay windows, working fireplaces, parquet floors and original art.

Launched in February 2016, K Bar is inspired by the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentlemen's club. Deep grained oak panelling lines the space which is softened by racing green and royal blue upholstery. An impressive bar front with leather panelling and a rich green marble top accompanies a polished brass back bar display and bespoke wine fridges. Bar Manager Ben Manchester, has put together a cocktail list with unique recipes created to demonstrate how food and drink go so well together.

South Kensington Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

We went along for the Tale as old as Time Afternoon Tea. Staff were very attentive and polite. Food was delicious. My only complaint is that our table was never 'visited' by the characters from Beauty & The Beast. The staff seemed to take them constantly to tables with children. Which is a shame as grown ups are big fans of the story too.

We had afternoon tea at The Kensington and it was lovely. The beauty and beast theme was excellent and the details made the experience great. It did feel a little rush as it was fully booked and we had a 2pm seating - we were sat down a little after 2pm and pushed to leave by 4pm. We had a few dietary requirements which I had called and mentioned in advance yet we were still asked about them on seating, and our food was noriable later than the other tables around us. Overall still fantastic!

We visited for the Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea. The experience was fantastic. Excellent food which was themed to the Beauty and the Beast animated film. The service, by all members of staff, was 5 star. Every aspect of the tea was first class. So very happy to have experienced this exceptional treat. Many, many thanks.

Was a little disappointed with the whole experience. Starters was lovely but we were only provided with one plate of sandwiches and one pot of tea. Most establishments offer to replenish the sandwiches and the tea. There was no offer at any time. There was a shortage of selection tea available.(no cloud tea) There was also a shortage of ornaments for all the tables, waiters were moving the roses and candles from table to table.

Very pleasant ambience and attentive but not intrusive staff. Head waiter/manager was most helpful, courteous and accommodating. The food was exceptionally well prepared in its simplicity, in particular the seared tuna for starters and stone bass for mains. The booking was easy. Easily our best evening out for the year.

Lovely Beauty and the Beast themed afternoon tea. Everything was very detailed, and tasted amazing. The staff were very welcoming and explained all the food and it's significance in the film extremely well. They were also very accommodating; they made me a separate starter and sandwiches as I am vegetarian. Would definitely recommend.
