Located in the heart of South Kensington, the Town House restaurant & bar is an all-day dining haven, accessed through its own discreet entrance on Manson Place. While away an afternoon over a delicious classic afternoon tea or sip exquisite cocktails at the adjacent K Bar.
Executive Chef Steve Gibbs, formerly of Hix and Caprice Holdings, has created a menu to match all tastes where the emphasis is on fresh produce focusing on the seasons, balanced with its hand-picked wine list with something for everyone.
Designed by Alexander Waterworth, the interiors reflect the building's natural charm and old English Town House aesthetic, with a specially-curated library also adding to the charm. The Town House’s period rooms – consisting of 3 beautiful interconnecting spaces - of what were once individual Regency style townhouses, feature bay windows, working fireplaces, parquet floors and original art.
Launched in February 2016, K Bar is inspired by the sophisticated atmosphere of a gentlemen's club. Deep grained oak panelling lines the space which is softened by racing green and royal blue upholstery. An impressive bar front with leather panelling and a rich green marble top accompanies a polished brass back bar display and bespoke wine fridges. Bar Manager Ben Manchester, has put together a cocktail list with unique recipes created to demonstrate how food and drink go so well together.
South Kensington Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

We had the tale as old as time afternoon tea, it was fantastic, from the service to the food, our waiter and waitresses were very attentive and polite, the food was very nice and well presented, only one negative was I had emailed before we came to inform them that I was celebrating my birthday and my daughters 18th birthday , I asked if they could just write a birthday message of some sort on her plate, just to make the experience a little more special for her, they assured me that they would, unfortunately they didn't.

Tale as old as time Disney afternoon tea was excellent! Brilliant attention to detail in the creation of the cakes and presentation by staff

Our afternoon tea at The Kensington Hotel was wonderful. It was a birthday present for my sister, whose favourite Disney movie is 'Beauty & The Beast'. The food was amazing. The attention to detail, & links to the movie, were delightful. Everyone was very friendly, and the service provided was excellent. We had a wonderful experience!

We were a little late due to London traffic, however the staff were amazing and so kind. They made a wonderful birthday plate for our little girl and it was so thoughtful. She has such a magical time and the staff were so attentive. The food was lovely and attention to detail was really something. Thank you all for making it a great memory for us all!

I loved everything about the Beauty & the Beast afternoon tea! The staff were friendly, the ambience peaceful, and the food was delicious. My friend and I could converse freely without worrying about being overheard by fellow diners. Only thing I didn't like was the music - didn't fit the theme.

My friend and I had a wonderful time at the Town House. We haven't seen each other for 30 years. She was visiting from Malaysia and was her first afternoon tea experience. The service was excellent, the waiters kept the interruptions to a minimal. The food was very good-savouries were tasty and not too salty; the sweets were yummy and not too sweet. We stayed for 3 hours of chat and catch up and never felt pressed to have to vacate the table. I am already planning to bring my family to have afternoon tea at the Town House again.
Just one suggestion- since the diners are reliant on the waiters to take photographs, it would be good if they have a little training in basic photography so they can capture the good memories for the diners.
