Serving over 150 varieties of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes, modern Toku Japanese restaurant is at the heart of the West End. Specialising in tempura, Toku has an authentic interior with an open sushi bar.

Focusing on the belief that ingredients should be fresh and organic, the Toku menu features a mouth-watering array of grills, noodles, sashimi and sushi. The house speciality, tempura, has its own separate menu. An impressive drinks menu, handpicked to suit every dish, includes wines, sake and Japanese tea.

Toku’s atmosphere contrasts with the bustle of Regent Street London, with an informal Japanese interior creating an authentic and relaxed dining experience. An open sushi bar allows diners to enjoy their dishes being prepared by the team of expert chefs.

A 1-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station, Toku London is moments away from Soho and the West End, making it a perfect choice for a pre-theatre Japanese meal.

Went for "Afternoon Tea" - a [$] set menu with tempura, sushi, omelette and desert. And of course tea!The tea was fantastic, with a great selection to choose from. The tempura was great: the best I've had in a while. The sushi was well made and tasty (although I've never been that into smoked salmon in a sushi roll) as was the omelette. The desserts, however, were not my style. Despite eating Japanese food regularly for almost twenty years, I've never ever managed to get along with the desserts. I will say that I liked these much more than similar examples that I've tried, so I would guess that if you DO like this sort of thing it would suit you!Despite not liking the final course very much, my partner and I felt very satisfied with the meal and the value for money was pretty good even for just the savoury dishes. I am very much looking forward to coming back and trying the rest of the menu!
