Food etc was as normal good but the unfortunately we were stuck in a corner by the toilets with no ventilation.i had requested a table for 8 with room for a push chair I don't think you normally seat 8 in this area as it was 2 tables stuck together. We had booked in advance as there were so many of us and I believe there was nicer tables available. We cut our visit short the surroundings really were unpleasant cramped and extremely hot

Sunday carvery with the usual greta selection of meats and vegetables. Staff vey busy and no drinks offered which was the only negative.

Carvery was great but beef and pork were a bit dry, we had cheesy garlic bread which wasn't very good, very basic and looked like something you'd do it if you were mankind yourself and not a lot of flavour at all, pofitarolls weren't great, so much cream and hardly any chocolate and brownie sundae was good, not shy on brownies :) overall good evening, veg selection was okay, the had some new carrot and something dish in the carvery and it was amazing... could have eaten a plate of that by taking self, and plenty of bread sauce (always a winner), staff were lovely and drinks are drinks and if you know what you like you order it.. can't go wrong..

Good food - excellent value for money. Waiting staff very attentive and helpful.
Spoilt only by the 'slapdash' attitude of the guys serving the carvery - meat was thrown onto the plates, often dropped onto the worksurface, then put back on the plate. A huge tin of yorkshire puds was piled into the serving dish, falling all over the place. More care needed!
Music was a bit loud, and you couldn't get away from it - too many speakers.- no such thing as a quiet table.

The new on-line booking system was excellent and saved us standing and waiting, and ensured a table was ready for us. The door, serving and hot plate staff were unfailingly friendly and welcoming, and all enhanced our dining experience. As usual, I piled too many of the tasty vegetables complementing the very well cooked meats, onto my plate and suffered a fullness precluding a sweet from the comprehensive menu.

Prompt friendly welcome. Small delay when initially seated but not excessive. Friendly chef, food in line with Toby's standards. No concerns and ideal for filling cheap eats.
