It was great as always. Good food, friendly staff and there's nothing like a roast on a Sunday.

Right next to tranquil Mitcham Common, Toby Carvery Park Place is set inside a grand building with its own al fresco seating area. Inside, Sunday roasts made with a selection of juicy meats are on offer all week, as well as menus for kids.

Featuring classic British roasts every day of the week, the Toby Carvery menu is renowned for its crowd-pleasing selection. Choose from juicy, slow-cooked meats, seasonal vegetables and hand-ruffled potatoes (with each one checked to make sure it’s gorgeously crispy). Tempting alternatives at this Toby Carvery in Merton include allotment pie, and salmon with coriander and lime, while a varied vegetarian range includes the broccoli & brie parcel.

Old-school puddings are always on offer at Toby Carvery pubs, with famous signature crumbles served alongside chocolate & cherry torte, and baked vanilla cheesecake. The drinks list features beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks, and full-works, all-you-can-eat breakfasts are served each day.

A great example of the Sunday roast for a reasonable price, Toby Carvery Park Place is 4 minutes' drive from Mitcham Eastfields Rail Station.

I booked a table for 8 and requested the round table and said one of our party would be in a wheelchair. I rang to double check the booking and was told where the wheelchair ramp and table would be. When we arrived we were greeted by a member of the team who told us where the disabled toilet was, which was very thoughtful of them. The chef on the Carvery had a fantastic personality and kept us all amused as we waited to make our choice of pork, turkey, beef or gammon. Everything was excellent and very good value for money. Having been to several carverys I would rate this as one of the best for customer service and good food. The staff must have been specially hand picked as they were excellent. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Although very busy everything ran like clockwork. A big choice of meat and vegetables plus gravies and sauces. I loved the coffee and mini dessert to finish too.

Absolute chaos - but this is part of the charm. Great place. Fantastic roasts. My grand children love it.

Staff as always were pleasant, friendly and helpful. Meat dishes were tasty but standard portion could be a bit more generous! Good choice of vegetables and gravy. I can think of an Irish pub that serves carvery for the same price but that serves consistently a better portion of their meats. You never come out feeling a bit let down. Toby's serving can be erratic!! Of note, as an avid eater of Yorkshire pudding, Toby's ones are in my opinion lacks in substance - too light, tasteless or floury in taste. It lacks the genuine home taste that you can even with auntie's bessy ones. I get the feeling it is made with just flour, water and bicarbonate of Soda - without milk and eggs. It is too thin and lite!!

Least but not last, it was somewhat chaotic on arrival with long queues and the reception area crowded, thus creating confusion as to what one should do. It would be helpful - to avoid friction or misunderstanding on the part of other customers - that customers names are noted once they have checked in . AND THAT THEY ARE CALLED WHEN THEIR TABLES ARE READY. The staff member would ALSO need to come to the main entrance door when calling the customers - as they may have had to go back outside to wait because of the queue.
