Very good quality food served in nice surroundings with attentive staff. We were on the 25 pounds special deal including glass of bubbly. You need to be aware of some of the food items carry a big supplement but this is marked on the menu. Thus for four of us including 12.5 service charge and a bottle of cheapest wine came to 170 pounds. Not cheap but reasonable value for money if special occasion.

Great value for money (3 courses and champagne cocktail for £25); good food; staff were friendly and attentive; slightly lacking in atmosphere/Christmas feel although there were one or 2 garlands on the fireplace and the waiter chose to serve the main course when one member of the group was absent from the table which was less than perfect. Overall, a really good night out.

What a lovely relaxing afternoon. From the moment we arrived we were looked after in a very warm and friendly manner. I had only remembered to ask 24 hours before if there was a gluten free option and they provided this without any fuss. My Sister said it was best Gluten free afternoon tea she had ever had. We were given a large selection of teas each one explained in detail and encouraged to try as many as we wanted. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and when my daughter asked for extra sandwiches they were very happy to provide. It's not the Ritz but the warmth of the staff and the quality of the food more than make up for the less glamorous surroundings. Also it is less than half the cost of the Ritz or most other establishments in the area so overall very good value for money. Personally I enjoyed the less formal approach and the fact that they were more than happy for us to stay as long as we liked. All the staff were great but special thanks to Chris and the restuarant manager who's name I have forgotten, too much Champagne. We will return.

We booked a great deal on Bookatable for a three course lunch, the food was simply excellent, well presented but still reasonable size portions and everyone enjoyed all of their courses. The setting is simple and stylish with excellent service, not too pretentious but still clearly a great place for a special day out. Great value for money, a good value wine list with really strong budget wines (£28 a bottle for the mid range red or white, both were excellent) and a very convenient location make it easy to recommend! We will definitely return...

The cocktail on arrival was prompt as was the waiter taking the orders. However we had to wait 45 minutes for our starter as they had forgotten about us, the couple next to us ordered after and had had their starter plates cleared before we got served after asking where our food was. The atmosphere was poor we were shoved in a small room at the back with all deals and had no music what we could hear filtered through two rooms from the main room. Staff tried to clear away cocktail before finished. Food was 7/10 no flavour in goats cheese cream and too much salt on the spinach gnoochi. Presentation also varied between plates of the same course and dish. If you want high class dining at a cheap price then for the experience I would recommend it but I wouldn't eat here again. Hotel carpets also very dated and dirty and rude service when rang on the phone to update booking.
