The overall experience was unfortunately disappointing. Despite booking for 1pm, the restaurant seemed unprepared for our arrival, along with the other 8 tables that had booked for the same time. It was about half an hour after being seated that we got anything delivered to our table. The food was okay but unimaginative. We wanted to try more teas but we had already finished our food by the time they got around to asking us. It all seemed a bit disorganised overall.

I was given a champagne afternoon tea here as a gift. My friend and I enjoyed the selection of sandwiches, cakes, dessert and scones. Everything was fresh and the selection of teas very good - you could try as many as you wanted and we loved the little tea pots in which the tea was infused. Also the little egg timers which told you when a particular tea was ready to drink - a nice little touch! Service was really good with nothing being too much trouble - a special mention to Rozper here. We asked for some more clotted cream and this arrived very quickly. A lovely relaxing afternoon.

We went to the Tiger Green Brasserie with high expectations, seeing that it is part of the Hilton Hotel. Unfortunately we were disappointed and I am surprised it's received such positive reviews. The interior looked inviting and promising, and when we sat down and got our champagne cocktail, I thought, "so far so good!" The cocktail was delicious. However, this was the turning point in the evening. In general, the service was chaotic and the food was disappointing. As for the service, we had a hard time getting the attention of the wait staff. Also, my boyfriend asked for a glass of wine, but it took awhile before he received it, and without asking, they gave him a "large" wine. They could have come back and asked him what size of wine he would like instead of assuming he wanted a "large" wine, and to be honest, for what I would expect would be a high-class restaurant, what are they doing serving glasses of wine to the rim anyway? It is just not classy. Thankfully they did not charge us for this error. Moreover, as I said, the food was lacking. I ordered the beets and goats cheese textures starter, which was surprising -- I thought I would receive a salad? It was more like 2-kinds of goatscheese on a plate with a bit of beets-flavored sauce. Disappointing. I also ordered the steak with vegetables and sauce, but the meat was so over-cooked that it is was tough, and the vegetables were too salty. While I agree that I cannot be too picky because I used the star deal (3-courses), I would expect us to receive the same quality food as if we were paying full price! I do admit that I loved the sticky toffee pudding, but the presentation and size just simply not fit in with the rest of the meal. In general, I would not come back and would not recommend this restaurant. Simply said, I had high expectations, but they were not met.
