Featured in the Michelin Guide, The Three Tuns Foodhouse is a cosy gastropub that dates back to the 17th century. The rich, seasonal food is classically British at heart, with modern and Mediterranean touches.

The Three Tuns menu is all about doing classic dishes well, whilst adding the occasional contemporary flourish. Start with bubble and squeak, served with a soft fried duck egg, pancetta and tomato chutney, or hot goats’ cheese soufflé with wild garlic pesto. Among the mains are traditional beer-battered fish and chips, a trio of sausages with mashed potato and gravy, and supreme of chicken served on a warm salad of pearl barley, butternut squash, broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes.

With open fires and rustic décor, the Three Tuns Henley-on-Thames is a laid-back gastropub. A patio garden allows for al fresco dining in warmer weather.

In the heart of the historic town, the Three Tuns in Oxfordshire is a 4-minute walk from the river. Henley-on-Thames Train Station can be reached in 8 minutes on foot.

Three starters and meals were very good. One meal wasn't. it was a plaice with hardly any 'meat' and apparently cold. Poor mashed potato. We weren't charged for this meal and the staff handled it very well. Overall a very good experience though some of us felt a little bit chilly.
