Boasting more than 25 years in business, Thornton's is widely regarded as one of the top restaurants in Ireland. The first Irish chef to gain 2 Michelin stars, chef/proprietor Kevin Thornton’s acclaimed food is rooted in his love for nature and fine local produce.

Offering an inventive take on European cuisine, the Thornton’s menu begins with the likes of braised pig’s head with celeriac purée, and fillet of John Dory with lemongrass and ginger consommé. Creative mains include magret of goose breast glazed with honey and almond, and roast deer loin with valhrona sauce.

For the ultimate gastronomic experience, the Thornton’s tasting menu offers 5-courses of flavour-rich food. An extensive wine list is also available, alongside a wide selection of spirits from the bar.

Overlooking beautiful St Stephen's Green, Thornton’s Dublin sits in the heart of the city.

Wonderful service and hospitality. The food was simply amazing. The passion for food was evident and manifest itself in the presentation and attentive service.

It was really a great experience to have the head chef serve some of the dishes to us and describe them.

First visit. Enjoyed every moment. The duck was my highlight.

The Thorntons is for me the best restaurant in Dublin. It is a pity that it closes.

No menu choice. Poor cocktail choice. Food portions small.

Seems like they've given up before they close at the end of October. Food was boring and service, though friendly, was slapdash. This restaurant used to be amazing but its time has come, and it may be a saving grace that it's closing its doors.

The dessert course the best but closely followed by the duck course

Excellent service. Good food. overpriced (but good) wines. Odd that all tables carefully positioned so that we could NOT see the view out the windows.
