Very well presented food, with good enthusiastic service. A pleasant airy dining room with plenty of space.

Meal was very enjoyable but would be nicer if the menu had a larger range of meals to choose from

This must be the best restaurant for miles. The flavours were stunning. Great wine by the glass. Great service.

excellent. good idea about the taste menu. good choice and variety of wines. good service. food was well prepared and innovative. Just one slight thing: the hock terrrine needed a little more seasoning.

Overall the experience of afternoon tea was lovely. When we first arrived there was no one at reception but there were staff in the room opposite that notices us but took a while before coming over. We were taken straight to the dining hall and our coats were taken. Tea was brought to our table straight away. Then after 5 minutes our food came which looked lovely and I was pleased to see that my request for some plain cheese sandwiches had been granted. During the course of our tea we were visited 3 times to ensure everything was ok which was great. I felt there was something off about the ambience, the room seemed cold and the music was too quiet that we too felt we had to be really quiet. When it came to finishing up there was no one to be found to ask where to go to pay so I went to reception and someone came through and took my bill. The scones were absolutely delicious especially and I would definitely come back and recommended to other people. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Service was excellent and staff were both very friendly and professional. The food was superb with a reasonable selection of dishes. I had a salmon starter, which was excellent and Caroline enjoyed the veggie options. Caroline gets around with a guide dog and we were given a table with plenty of space for Polly (GD). Wine prices were also very reasonable and with a good selection. Ample parking for those, unlike us, who don't live within 5 mins walk.

On arrival we had to ask someone where we had to go. We were asked to sit in bar area and we would be given a menu to look at. We had to ask for the menu. When going to the the restaurant area we had to ask where we could put our coats? The restaurant was clean and bright but lacked character. Best features was the Chandelier's and all the old pictures of the college / students/ staff. Matthew in the restaurant was most pleasant, friendly and helpful a very promising student. We all enjoyed our meal and we visit again but hopefully staff would be more welcoming on arrival.

Wondeful food and service, a very welcoming atmosphere and surroundings...a little long on the wait for the table 30 minutes late on booking time but as we wasnt in a hurry or eagerly hungry this wasnt a problem this time; the only other snag was the online menu differed to the one we were given on the night and as i was looking forward to an item or two from the online menu was slightly disappointed to find it not available but the food that i did have was absolutely delicious...will definitely be returning.
