Very welcoming team. Pleasant atmosphere. Excellent food. I enjoyed the scallop dish for starters followed by duck breast.

With the slogan, “Meet. Eat. Drink. Stay”, the boutique The World’s End pub, near Northampton, is simple but classy. The rustic outward appearance hides a sleek interior, fitted with the restaurant and a hireable bar – all in the picturesque hamlet of Ecton.

Boasting accomplished Mediterranean cuisine, The World’s End’s menu takes pride in its stone fired pizzas and range of steaks, but also its well-loved British pub options. Mouth-watering dishes on offer include a meat grazing board with buttered chicken liver pate, salami, chorizo, Parma ham and rump steak, and sea bass fillets with chorizo crushed new potatoes, samphire and sauce vierge.

Inside, the feature wall is composed of stacks of firewood, and old-fashioned brick archways frame the building. However, combining the classic and the modern, there is a fresh cream and brown theme to the decorations and seating, extending to the pretty anterior dining area.

Feature-packed, The World’s End also has late night live music to diversify the atmosphere for those staying out late. At just 14 minutes’ drive from Northampton, it is a country haven not far from the town.

Had a very good dinner including scallops, the pidgin starter, duo of lamb and the liver. Very attentive and friendly service. Highly recommend

Won't go back in a hurry... staff were pleasant enough but waited 40mins before receiving a drink (although had to ask for that) food nice enough but not for the price! very disappointed as we were looking forward to it!

Very busy evening. The food was fabulous, but we seemed to be at a table that had been 'fitted in' where it shouldn't really have been and which proved to be in a bit of a blind spot to the serving staff. We could see other tables getting very good attention and service whilst we were spending quite a bit of time getting someone to take a drink order, deliver drinks, take the order for starters, take an order for main course etc. It was a shame as it is usually a very good experience here.

Lovely restaurant, food was wonderful. Only small criticism is the mash with the chicken pie had an extremely overwhelming taste of salt and pepper. Otherwise lovely

The restaurant was very busy on the Sunday afternoon & whilst we had to wait a while for our orders to be taken, it was fully understood because it was so busy. Once the orders were taken the food arrived pretty promptly & every body agreed that all the courses were very good. In particular the roasts were done to perfection.

The piri piri chicken tasted very chard and the Dahl and Quinoa could have had more flavour and spice. The starters were good.

Slightly slow service despite being quiet however this did not detract from the excellent food. The filet steak was excellent ??
