With the slogan, “Meet. Eat. Drink. Stay”, the boutique The World’s End pub, near Northampton, is simple but classy. The rustic outward appearance hides a sleek interior, fitted with the restaurant and a hireable bar – all in the picturesque hamlet of Ecton.

Boasting accomplished Mediterranean cuisine, The World’s End’s menu takes pride in its stone fired pizzas and range of steaks, but also its well-loved British pub options. Mouth-watering dishes on offer include a meat grazing board with buttered chicken liver pate, salami, chorizo, Parma ham and rump steak, and sea bass fillets with chorizo crushed new potatoes, samphire and sauce vierge.

Inside, the feature wall is composed of stacks of firewood, and old-fashioned brick archways frame the building. However, combining the classic and the modern, there is a fresh cream and brown theme to the decorations and seating, extending to the pretty anterior dining area.

Feature-packed, The World’s End also has late night live music to diversify the atmosphere for those staying out late. At just 14 minutes’ drive from Northampton, it is a country haven not far from the town.

My girlfriend and i often dine at The Worlds End and each time it exceeds our expectations. Each feature of our evening was superb, the food is very high quality, the service is personal and the atmosphere is warming.

The beef was good my children had the beef so I am happy at that. My wofe and I had the Sea Bass. Two things firstly the portion of then fish was so small it looked like one fish finger and the sauce was far to acidic for the dish overall not one you should let your cook do again. I was not given any time at the table to complain about this.

Food was delicious, would benefit for a few more veggie options but my sister enjoyed her lasagne. Good attentive staff, nothing was to much trouble for them and always attended us with a smile on her face. My only criticism was that I have to vacate the table within 2 hours this did make me clock watch a bit which wasn't very relaxing but in the event they wasn't busy and I'm sure we wouldn't have been asked to vacate the table.

We have been to the restaurant before but not in the evening. It was a lovely evening, within a nice restaurant with good food which tasted great and looked good as well.

Poor service. Food portions were disappointing. A supplement was charged for the beef roast dinner which was lovely except only given two small slices, I would have expected for the supplement to have at least three slices. It was also disappointing that by 4pm one of the desserts was not available especially as I would consider it would have been one of the most popular ones and therefore more should have been made.

Food and service was excellent but found the knives very difficult to use. They were very heavy and had pyramid shaped handles. These knives should be changed in my opinion. I would not like to eat with them again and if I did book again I would first of all ask about the knives. It's a pity beacuase the food was very good indeed.

Gorgeous dining room, friendly and attentive staff, delicious food and a super children's menu. There is also a beautiful outdoor area and kids play apparatus.
