Fantastic service good food and great atmosphere. They really made brilliant effort to meet my needs - I'm gluten and lactose free so not easy. The value was great too

Nice meal. But real shame they don't do a mini fish & chips for children. Instead frozen fish bites.

    Shame about poor booking system.

Pleasant staff. Ushered to our table on arrival which hadn't been cleaned. Food served quickly. Average quality food for pub grub. Managed to char inside of a treacle pudding presumably in a microwave. Interesting starters. Mainly fish choices. Dining area not very warm.
    Good wine selection.

Overall a very poor and disappointing experience. Having made a reservation for 6.30pm we were told to hurry up and order as the kitchen closes at 7.00pm, the place was cold and we were made to feel that we were and inconvenience to them. Staff were poor and abrupt, the food was cold and only rescued by the hot gravy and ridiculously hot veg served separately.I cannot think of any good features of the meal, even the drinks (lime and soda) were poorly mixed. Sad to see this place going into decline yet again.

The location on the main road is convenient, however the top car park is quite a tight turn for a big car. Even though there is additional parking, this would too far away for my disabled fiance to walk. The decor was lovely, with plenty of space between tables and would have been comfortable even if the restaurant had been full. The food was overpriced but a good portion size. The scampi was £1 dearer than the fish but didn't come with peas or bread and butter like the fish did; however I was 'allowed' to have bread and butter (it seemed a big deal just asking for one slice of bread!). The batter on the fish and the breadcrumb coating on the scampi were both overcooked. The chips, however, were delicious but the service was sub-standard. The restaurant wasn't at all busy but when the server brought 2 drinks over she refused to take our order for more drinks from our colleagues who had just arrived, as she had to see to someone else first. When we did order their drinks, we had to wait an unreasonable length of time before they arrived - and that was after we reminded them we were still waiting. The server didn't know which wines were available, or the details of a gluten free option for the fish... despite the menu stating 'ask your server'! She was pleasant enough, which is why I awarded the service 2 stars and not 1. But on the whole, vey disappointing. It was my first visit and probably my last.
