Hadn't visited since The Wingerworth was taken over and re-styled and re-branded as Harry Ramadan's at The Wingerworth. In it's previous incarnation it suppose you would have called it a Gastro pub, and food and service were great. With this in mind we were a little disappointed by the new version. I know it was lunch but the menu is quite limited and although the food was good it certainly wasn't up to the standard of the old Wingerworth. It's not that anything was bad just hat the whole was a bit average. An OK dining experience that could be a whole lot better.

Myself and 3 friends arrived for our booking at 7.15 to be told there would be at least a 30 minute wait the excuse being that there have been some large parties earlier that day.We accepted this and ordered a drink which was brought promptly and the staff were very polite. When our food finally arrived they had got 1 of our orders wrong which meant we had almost finished our meal by the time it arrived. My friend was offered a free drink for this.I was not happy with the chips on my plate you could count on one hand how many full chips were on the plate the rest was just scrappy bits of potato. The restaurant was very warm and inviting and staff very apologetic.

Very disappointed my beer was cloudy and was told it was ok. Fish and chips very ordinary, not like the original Ramsdens

Nice meal. But real shame they don't do a mini fish & chips for children. Instead frozen fish bites.

    Shame about poor booking system.

Pleasant staff. Ushered to our table on arrival which hadn't been cleaned. Food served quickly. Average quality food for pub grub. Managed to char inside of a treacle pudding presumably in a microwave. Interesting starters. Mainly fish choices. Dining area not very warm.
    Good wine selection.

Overall a very poor and disappointing experience. Having made a reservation for 6.30pm we were told to hurry up and order as the kitchen closes at 7.00pm, the place was cold and we were made to feel that we were and inconvenience to them. Staff were poor and abrupt, the food was cold and only rescued by the hot gravy and ridiculously hot veg served separately.I cannot think of any good features of the meal, even the drinks (lime and soda) were poorly mixed. Sad to see this place going into decline yet again.
