A former dairy farm, The Willy Wicket serves quintessentially British food from an extensive menu, and enjoys a grassy beer garden framed by the pub’s red-brick exterior. Based in Bristol, the dining room features roaring open fires, black oak beam ceilings and squashy leather sofas.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Willy Wicket menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies designed by celebrity chef James Martin offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, The Willy Wicket in Downend boasts many rambling walks and idyllic beauty spots, while The Kendleshire Golf Club is just a 4-minute drive away.

Had a excellent Sunday lunch at the Willy Wicket. Couldn't fault any aspect of the quality of food and service. The mini desserts are an excellent idea and provide just the right amount of pudding after a generous main course.

Really nice restaurant/pub. Unfortunately it took 3 attempts to get my food right and my friends pizza had to be put back in the oven so we could eat at the same time. I had to search for a waitress to tell her my meal was wrong. My beef pie and her pizza were very good in the end. I was disappointed that they didn't even offer me a free coffee! We even got charged extra for sweet potato fries which wasn't mentioned when we ordered.

The service was excellent, friendly and quick. There was a good range of choices and the food was exceedingly well cooked and presented. Very good value for money and highly recommended. We will be going back again.

The food was greatly improved in quality and quantity relative to our last visit. Our waitress was very courteous and attentive and the general ambiance was acceptable for a very busy time.

We enjoyed our meal very much, but thought the service was a little slow. We had to wait 20 minutes at least for a starter. The improvements to the restaurant look really nice. As we have not eaten here for some time I do not have a favourite meal, but the courgette burger with sweet potato chips was delicious, even though I was asked if I wanted these chips it was not pointed out to me that they were 50p more.

I have had a number of Sunday lunches at the Willy Wickett; today was the first time I have eaten there in the evening. I had taken three friends there as a "thank-you" for all the help they gave me after a recent operation. I was delighted with the extensive menu and the reception from the staff. We all chose a different meal, and thought the food excellent.
