We loved the candelabras everywhere - the use of old furniture etc. The veranda is lovely as ever. The food was all delicious and the service very friendly.

    We had an excellent meal

We loved the look of this place when we arrived. We found a member of staff who was friendly and showed us to our pre-booked table. She came back with water and menus. Another member of staff came to take our order for food but not drinks. We had to ask to order drinks. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. The halloumi burger was as black and as hard as the slate plate the pudding arrived on. All the burgers were small and very dry. Pudding was ordered eventually. The waitress brought the bill over to us before we could even order pudding. A sharing pudding was ordered then 10 minutes later we were told we couldn't have it as the donut mix hadn't worked that morning. This left my daughter with no pudding option as everything else contained dairy. What could have been a lovely family meal was very disappointing. I certainly wouldn't rush back

Lovely meal here - friendly staff and excellent food. It is both a summer and winter pub - we will certainly be back.

Most of the food was great, only disappointed with my creme brulee which had not set and was just a liquid! If its not set, i should have just been told and asked if i wanted another dessert. It was taken off the bill so that was good but still a bit of a disappointment.

Very pleasant meal, service was unobtrusive and good. Food was well cooked and reasonably price. Half-lobster wasn't too challenging to retrieve the meat from, and was cooked without going rubbery! Zulu Dawn guest ale was a good find.

We had not been before and came on the recommendation of our son who proposed to his wife here. It was my husbands birthday and wanted somewhere different. Not disappointed. The food was very different indeed, presented beautifully and tasted devine. Lovely service and setting. We will definitely be back. Only problem was iit was hard to find and we are reasonably local !

Very average. Interesting menu but not executed very well. Used to be a good restaurant. Charges typical high local prices but isn't worth it. Lagging behind locally now.

Lovely restaurant, slightly spoilt when we arrived by what seemed to be a barrier of childrens pushbikes /scooters all over the rear entrance.best to go in the front anyway really.Lovely food, only thing that was a bit different was I thought the whitebait was a bit disappointing. No breadcrumbs,no brown bread or salad but that might be because it was a mezze rather than starter? The main course was superb (I had the guinea fowl) and the pudding was lovely.(chocolate/salted caramel tart).Service very good and the staff very pleasant
