Set just beside the Whittington Health Golf Club & boasting views of the rolling Staffordshire countryside, The Whittington Arms is a village local serving a menu of modern British pub cuisine. With a garden for sun-lit al fresco dining, the pub & restaurant also enjoys rustic furniture, deep leather sofas, and red & slate-coloured walls, making it a peaceful country hideaway.

Sourcing ingredients from trusted local suppliers, The Whittington Arms menu features wholesome recipes based around the garden, land and sea. Sample hand-pressed burgers, beef & ale pie with cardamom carrots, or sea bass with potato gnocchi, while old-school puddings include warming crumbles, custard-lathered sponges and decadent brownies. Not forgetting younger diners, a kids’ menu includes miniature versions of British classics.

A partnership with the celebrated Rothschild wine merchants means The Whittington Arms cellar is stocked full with an eclectic list of world wines, while indulgent wine flights allow guests to sample a variety of bins. Seasonal beers and barrel-kept ales also feature, as well as thirst-quenching cocktails and rich coffees.

Very disappointed went for lunch with my girlfriend, son and my mum and dad. Table was booked for 12:15 waited 40 minutes for our meals, they forgot the peas from my son's meal and the burger my girlfriend ordered was raw in the middle. After highlighting this to the waitress it was taken away and we waited a further 3p minutes for a replacement. My girlfriend was I'll overnight as a result of eating some of the burger. Shame as we have been before with no problems. Will eat elsewhere in the future.

An extremely poor quality meal, I had cod, chips, and mushy peas, the chips came in a mug and were large dark coloured and a bit greasy, the cod was tasteless and seemed to be saturated with water, the supposedly mushy peas resembled green mashed up plastic. The whole meal was a complete disaster. The staff were pleasant and attentive the place itself is clean and well furnished and the building is situated in a pleasant area with good parking. During the meal I was asked if everything was OK I declined to comment as I was out with someone and to start complaining halfway through a meal ruins it for everyone else. This was my first visit to the Whittington Arms and definitely my last.

We have had many a meal at the Whittington Arms but have to say on this occasion we were very disappointed. It will be a while before we go back again. The only reprieve was the waitress was lovely.

My wife's fish dish was excellent. Service was good. Roast was a bad choice; flash cooked veges were too hard and the cutlery is too blunt to cut soft butter

Absolutely excellent. We were regular (monthly) diners here for several years but when it closed for refurbishment we used The Hedgehog Lichfield, The Bull Shenstone Tame Otter Hopwas and Saxon Mill Warwick. (Gourmet Card user). Upon reopening Whittington Arms no longer accepted Gourmet Card so we didn't revisit reluctantly. Recently noticed they now accept Gourmet Card. Visited and Voila Fantastic refurb,, same lovely ambience, wonderful menu choices (pork belly, salmon and steak/ale pie were amazing). The staff were 100% changed which was a shame as we had had wonderful personal service before. BUT the new staff Jacquie and Abbi were very attentive. Our compliments for the evening must go to the chef of the evening "Sharon". All food was beautifully cooked, superbly presented and worthy of Masterchef Status. Our only hiccup was our wine when served at table was warm despite standing in an ice bucket. We were told it had come straight from the refrigerator so we suggested it should be turned on!! It was a beautiful NZ Sauvignon Blanc which cooled eventually when extra ice was put in the bucket. Jackie later apologised that the refrigerator had only just been refilled so the wine was still at room temperature. This could have ruined our evening BUT the food, service and surroundings made it a welcome return. We enjoy regular dining out with friends and will return. However we will check the temperature of the wine BEFORE opening next time.

Liked the layout. Nice and clean with a warm welcoming feel. I was in a party of 4 and we all enjoyed the meals we had. The steak, Ale and mushroom pie was really well balanced as so often you can get all pastry, no filling but the shortcrust was just right. Two of us had the sticky toffee pudding and we thought it was delicious.
