Once used as army barracks against the threat of Napoleon, The White Rabbit delivers typically British fare from a trusty menu. Set in the heart of Kent, the innkeeper’s lodge and restaurant emulates the colonial style of the old American White House, while spacious gardens cater for al fresco dining come the summer.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The White Rabbit menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while the ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

    Very very slow service. Waitress didn't really do her job in so much as checking

    Table 7.30. Sat down at 7.50
    Order talen 8.15
    Starters arrived 8.45
    Mains arrived after twice asking where they were 9.40
    No dessert ordered as no time left
    Charged us £150. DIDNT PAY THAT MUCH
    Manager was good, but feel should have seen her long before we requested her

    I went here about 3yrs ago and it was rubbish.. got tild it was alot better now?? So we gave it ago,,
    We was very impressed.. nice food, waiters good. Nice all round.. could do with the lights being turned down a bit?? It was like being under a flood light..

    We booked online which was fairly easy. The Bookatable website stated that we would be contacted to take a reservation payment, however no-one contacted us to take it, so we were a bit worried that the booking wasn't made. Arrived on time on Boxing Day evening 2016 at The White Rabbit in Maidstone. It was fairly quiet in there, so disappointed that none of three visible staff greeted us, even though we were stood right in front of them, not one even made eye contact. A young man was pouring drinks at the bar, a woman was chatting to him and then walked off in the opposite direction and another woman collected glasses from the bar and walked off also. We were left to wander about looking for someone to take us to our table. First impression was very poor to say the least. Almost walked out at this stage. Eventually found a lady to take us to our table and she took our drinks order, just two of us, so two drinks. She didn't take a note of our order but seemed confident of remembering it - not far to walk to the bar, perhaps 20 steps.... Short time later.... the young man we saw at the bar came to our table to get our drinks order again as she couldn't remember it! Had our food order taken by yet another less than engaging member of staff and the starters came as ordered and very promptly, however the bread for pate and soup was not provided with butter, which had to be asked for. Main course also prompt and pretty average, served to us by Jane. If all of the staff were like Jane this review would be FIVE STAR. She was cheerful, chatty and very hardworking, clearing tables which had been left and walked past by other staff several times. Extremely pleased with Jane, very disappointed with everyone else. Very dispiriting experience.

    We were not told in the email we needed to preorder our food as. We choose the special offer however the staff were very accomadating and let us have the Xmas menu

    I used to live in Maidstone and always thought highly of the White Rabbit, I must admit I was grossly disappointed in booking for a family christmas meal to then turn up and we had to order from the origional menu as the booking site failed to offer a pre order for the meal etc.
    Also we sat at 1.45 and didnt get our food til 3pm. I had to also wait extra as my meal was dropped and the service was really slow. By the time we had our food served we had to quickly eat instead of enjoying our meal as it made us delayed in seeing other family.
    The children became irriatable and upset the day.
    The staff were very pleasent and professional but standards for this restuarant have slipped dramatically.
    Also there was not toilet roll in the toilets and the hygeine standards are not great let alone table missing cultery and the ones we had were not clean properly.
    We will not be coming again
