First time I've been here and I wasn't disappointed at all. I cannot find one criticism regarding The Wharf. Everything is super, the food and service is second to none. Can't wait to go back.

Perched alongside the meandering Bridgewater Canal, The Wharf serves trusty British cuisine in this idyllic Manchester suburb. Enjoy views of the water from the parasol-covered al fresco terrace, or the manicured boules court.

Offering a daily-changing a la carte range alongside sumptuous sharing platters and light bites, Wharf menu favourites include root beer-braised pork belly with bacon and parmesan donuts, or local lamb hot pot with pickled red cabbage. Comforting British puddings include bread & butter pud with apricot sauce and vanilla ice cream, and a varied children’s menu offers miniature servings of wholesome pub classics.

An expansive, stool-lined bar offers a myriad of drinks, including 50 wine bins, 100 malt whiskies, and 6 seasonally-changing cask ales. Enjoy informal pub-style dining in the downstairs bar at The Wharf in Manchester, or elegant restaurant service on the mezzanine floor.

This homely, country farmhouse-style retreat is filled with cosy nooks and crannies for enjoying relaxed, secluded dining. The Wharf pub is a 5-minute drive from central Manchester.

The staff were lovely and the food was amazing!

The meals were of a good standard and a good choice. Some meals do need a side order with them so can be more expensive than at first viewing. There is also a good choice of wines and cask beers.

Regarlar visitors. Always great food and atmosphere. Took some friends visiting from the South. One being seliac- unfortunately werent able to offer meal as advertised - lamb potatoes etc with a jus (not gravy - gravy no good for seliac). Because it was serving 'sunday lunches' with gravy no jus available - disappointing as not what menu read/advertised.

Attractively located by the waterside, it would be a great place in the summer, my visit was early pre concert in April. There is no pre theatre menue.
We sat inside the restaurant. it has a faux olde world decor with bookshelves etc. but a welcome cozy fire in the grate.
The food was good but not great. We had a good, hot portion of celariac and apple soup served with bread. But a good granary, wholemeal or sourdough would have been better.
I had roasted cod excellently cooked served with a small langoustine - the hardshell with pincers variety and for decoration only which was advertised as "prawn". The green vegetables were hard and mostly inedible. If you were hungry you would have needed a side to go with it.
My friend had a chicken and ham pie with chips. He said it was great and the chips were good and chunky but is it a "pie" when the pastry is the "suet" type cooked in a basin and not a pie with a crispy brown pastry top?
Yes, I would go again. The service was very friendly and good and overall it was a good experience and not overpriced.
